The only guides I can find are from 4+ years ago.

Should I max poison breath straight away and try to train at death teddies?

Or should I add arrow and train elsewhere?

I’m currently level 32, doing like 600 damage to normal teddies with slash.

Poison breath if u got enough mesos, those teddy's will consume alot of pots, if not just do the fire arrow and grind at your own pace/ do quests or just do party quests.

    Both are viable!

Once you job advance, you'll never use either skill ever again, so it's doesn't really matter.

Using poison breath at death teddies is intense, and a very unique experience. It's some wildly different gameplay, which some players find novel and enjoyable. Personally, I found it more annoying than fun... but some folks enjoy it.

From what I remember, you can max arrow first... giving you some good options at teddy's, wraiths, and of course ghost ship... and still be able to max poison breath by the time you're ~55 and going to death teddies. But that's just based on what I read in a (other server) F/P guide, never done it personally.

theoretically with poison you level up faster, but you need "a lot of int/luk" to get more "magic acc"in addition to a high cost of powder, which may be heavy for a beginner.

On my NewLeaf ironman, I opted for fire arrow first to be able to grind better for 40-50 ish, then making sure I max poison by lv 56 (starting lv 46, until after EPQ level) so I can Death Teddy train. Then swap to Gatekeepers when you can hit them at a rate higher than 5% and rocket all the way until you can fog more Gatekeepers or Shaolin

Yeah I didn't have access to funds, FM or zakum, so I was a basic lukless mage with maybe 10 luk total and maybe int+30 from equips. You can try out the accuracy calculator to see, it's calculated on level and stepped up every 10 points in int and luk (separately). If you can't hit death teddies consistently yet, consider running PPQ or continue grind in like gs5

Black Bear Swordsman in China gives exp more than Death Teddies, lower level with low avoid and have an easier map rotation. They also drop two-handed sword 30% scrolls to maybe break even on mesos spent on potions.
