I'd like to suggest introducing the Maker skill for Reverse/Timeless gear crafting. We have time temple but hardly anyone goes there because the 'pieces of time' are now junk etc. Back in SEA pre-BB, alot of attackers will sometimes grind in time temple if they get bored of skele's or if maps are crowded as they could sell the pieces of time for some good money (they used to go for 4-7 mil each standard in the market). They are not easy drops and require some time and luck to hunt but they are required ingredients to craft reverse gear.

At least it brings more grinding spots for attackers at higher levels above 4th job rather than rely on mage-spam/leech to level.

Pink bean is for time rock and timeless equipment but with maker skill alone temple of time would be more popular and efficient training area as we could farm for pieces of time to craft reverse equipment. Pink bean would serve as a higher purpose for end-game timeless weapons as a boss, but to flock the time temple map, maker skill is required for crafting using 'pieces of time'.

 

If you bring back the Maker skill, it will be farm-city even more. It might restore the ore economy, but I'm not sure if this is 100% a good idea for Legends.

To be frank, while Kim said that this was never really v62, it's true that ToT feels out of place because of that -- pieces of time were meant to craft Reverse items, but again, I'm personally wary of introducing such a farm-heavy tactic to us. It will essentially enforce, even more than what we have now, a 'required' mage. You could argue that you don't need one, true; I know plenty of 'pro' players who never actually made a mage to farm in preBB even when Maker came out. Though the efficiency game is all the game's about now so I would say our mindset is a bit more unhealthy and some maps would become completely unplayable because of how many farmers we would have.

The Maker skill is actually my favorite part of preBB but again, I want to stress that we should consider possible limitations. Your last comment about it 'rather than rely on mage-spam/leech to level' would pretty much be countered by the fact that people would want to make mages to farm, thus leeching themselves in addition (because why not, right? Farm ores at places where you can also leech easily -- a win-win situation).

 

I feel like pieces of time could be made more useful, even without timeless/reverse equipment or maker skill.

Just make the pieces able to be traded for late game weapons/items from some NPC. It would not be the easiest thing to balance, but it does allow higher level players to have multiple options when farming in the late game, which is a great thing for a 0.62 server.

 

PoT for AP resets, bing bang boom I have cured the problems of the world.

That might be a good idea, but AP resets are not bound to any meso value since they are untradable. And since some people might not need them at all you may need some different rewards as well.

I also think pieces would have to be made untradable as well, otherwise a market of AP reset selling would be created, which might be quite a controversial topic. As I mentioned, balancing such an idea might be tough. But it would be a great start of making ToT relevant.
