Comprehensive Gashapon Redistribution List

In lieu of the recent threads about gashapon and its potential effects on server economy and gameplay, I think it would be a good idea to just list potential places for everything, where gashapon-exclusive items may be found by regular means.

I don't want to make any arguments about economics here. But what I do hope to do is to improve the overall gaming experience so that all these items might be obtained by hunting mobs or bosses, rather than just a daily slot machine. I'm not suggesting to remove/alter gashapon.

The glove crafter in Ludibrium can make the colored version of a work glove with a regular work glove and the corresponding gems.
Blue work glove = 5 saphire.
Yellow work glove = 5 topaz, 2 gold.
Red work glove = 5 garnet.

Legendary Scrolls

For White Scrolls and Chaos Scrolls, I propose we add in custom items, something like "Subani Scroll Fragment" and "Chaos Scroll Fragment". Then, certain powerful bosses like Zakum, Bigfoot, Black Crow, Pianus, etc would drop them at varying rates depending on their difficulty. When you collect 10 fragments of one scroll, you take it to a NPC (alcaster maybe?). It would require completing his quests which allows you to buy stuff from him. Finally the last thing you must do is pay him 10 million mesos and either 10 dark crystals for a Chaos Scroll or 1 star rock and 1 moon rock for a White Scroll.

A lot of these suggestions (especially scrolls) are just random selected mobs that seem like they could use an extra good drop (or two). Feel free to modify the drop list if you feel you come up with a better place for these items to drop.

 

I added a few items that I remembered were missing. But now that I think about it, I am probably missing a lot of scrolls still too. If you see something that's missing, post here and suggest a place for it to go if you want, too.

 

Thanks for the support guys. I went through all the scrolls on hidden-street.net looking for potential candidates that might be in gash but simply weren't in their gash list, and even some other ones that weren't dark scrolls that didn't seem to drop from anything, and I added them to the list. There are a TON of these floating around, and I'm running out of ideas (and time for that matter) for where they should go. In any case, there's just a crapload of scrolls that are probably only from gash that need homes.

The ones marked with asterisks (*) can be obtained from temple of time and ninja castle mobs. However, since it does not seem this server will add these mobs in the future, it might be a good idea to have another mob drop them in the mean time.

 

lol, "nostalgia". Oh how I pine for the days where GMS was crowded with a bunch of rude kids, where hackers infested everything and ruined the experience, when people would dc you just to take your spot in the FM, and the fact that we had to pay money for NX. Don't you? In the name of nostalgia, we ought to get rid of the autoban system and make NX cash only available to donators. True pay2win, just like it was back in the good old days!!

...wait, that's probably the most idiotic idea you've ever heard, right? So let's not make our goal to make this server exactly how it was in GMS, but make it a game better than Neckson ever could have. Let's make this version of maplestory something much more than a clone of something greedy corporations thought of.

Anyway, I think white/chaos scroll pieces dropping from bosses would be fine as long as they were rare enough. If people ever use the phrase "kill zakum to farm white scroll pieces" then I think the drop rate is too high.
