Magician [Guide] Ice/Lightning Skillbook Quests

Hey everyone! I haven't been able to find a comprehensive I/L Arch Mage guide for the fourth job skill quests, so I decided to put together some info on this thread.

Spoiler: Blizzard

[El Nath]
Begin the quest by talking to your third job instructor, Robeira.


[Korean Folk Town]
Travel to KFT to talk to Wiz the Librarian.

You can get there from El Nath by heading to the Orbis Tower left of El Nath, then go to Aqua Road where you can talk to the Dolphin NPC that will take you to the Sharp Unknown.

[Ellinia]
From there, head over to your first job instructor, Grendel the Really Old.


[El Nath]
Go back to the third job advancement building in El Nath and head to the basement, where you'll talk to Shammos.


[Ellinia]
Shammos will send you back to Ellinia to talk to Grendel again.

[El Nath]
Grendel will ask you to back to Shammos.

[El Nath]
Talk to Robeira.

[El Nath]
Talk to Shammos again. He'll ask you to hunt for the Cold Heart of a Wolf

which can be found by killing a Lycanthrope.

Head there by taking the Danger Zone Taxi, going up through Sharp Cliff II and Dangerous Cliff, until you get to Wolf Territory III.

[El Nath]
Go back to Shammos to complete the quest, and you're done!

Note: Blizzard 20 and Blizzard 30 skillbooks can be obtained from Zakum and Horntail respectively. These are commonly found in the Free Market.

Spoiler: Ice Demon

[Leafre]
Obtain the Frozen Book of Ice

which can be found by killing a Blue Kentaurus.


[Leafre]
Then, go to your fourth job instructor, Gritto.

Find her by going to the Forest of the Priest through the Valley of the Antelope.

[Ellinia]
From there, head over to your first job instructor, Grendel the Really Old.


[El Nath]
Next, talk to your third job instructor, Robeira.


[El Nath]
She'll ask you to talk to Jeff, the Dungeon Guide that can be found in Ice Valley II.

Head there by taking the Danger Zone Taxi.

[El Nath]
Jeff will tell you speak with Vogen the Refining Expert at the El Nath Market.

He'll ask you to gather the following items:
1 Moon Rock

2 Orihalcon Plates

30 Ice Pieces

I got these via the Free Market for about 10K mesos each since Grim Phantom Watches in Deep Ludi are immune to ice.

[El Nath]
Once you have the Orihalcon Hammer, go back to Jeff the Dungeon Guide.

Jeff will send you into a new area where you can talk to the Ice NPC and you'll be able to gain the Ice Demon skill. Yay!

Note: Ice Demon 20 can be obtained from Jiaoceng, Lyka, and Griffey whereas Ice Demon 30 is dropped by Krexel and Papulatus. These skillbooks can usually be found in the Free Market.

Spoiler: Ifrit

As a pre-requisite, you should've already obtained the Ice Demon skill.

[El Nath]
Talk to Alcaster at the El Nath Market.

He'll ask you to gather the following items:
50 Firebomb Flames

10 Kentaurus's Flame

10 Small Flaming Feather

You can get the first from Firebombs, which spawn in Zipangu and the El Nath dungeons. The other two can be found from the Red Kentaurus and Blood Harp mobs in Leafre.

[El Nath]
Return to Alcaster with the items.

[Orbis Tower]
Because Alcaster failed the experiment, he'll tell you to go to Huckle.
He can be found in a hidden room on the 10th Floor of the Orbis Tower.

Then, you'll look for the hidden room down the Orbis Tower toward Aqua Road (B2) to find Hughes the Fuse.

He'll ask you to gather the following items to make a Summoning Frame:
10 Orihalcon Plates

5 Adamantium Plates

5 Mithril Plates

1 Soul Pouch


[Orbis Tower]
Go back to Huckle to learn how to make a Soul Pouch. You'll need to gather:
30 Summoning Rocks

50 Evil Spirits from Dark Klocks

50 Free Spirits from Master Soul Teddies

50 Binding Bridles from Master Death Teddies

I suggest enlisting a friend to help out with the Free Spirit and Binding Bridles since the mobs that drop those are immune to ice or strong against it.

[Orbis Tower]
After collecting everything, go back to Huckle to get the Soul Pouch.

[Orbis Tower]
Then, head to Hughes the Fuse. He's going to give you a Summoning Frame to give to Alcaster.

[Orbis Tower]
Go back to Alcaster who tells you to talk to Flo in Ludi.

[Ludibrium]
Flo tells you that you need to get the Key to the Other World

which is an ETC dropped by a Gatekeeper at the Warped Passage (left side).


From there, Flo will let you enter the Room of Thanatos to fight the Elemental Thanatos

and obtain a Fire Soul Rock.

You need a party of two arch mages in order to enter. You should preferably get an F/P to help since two of these will spawn: one ice type and one fire-type.

[El Nath]
Once you go back Alcaster, you're done!

Note: Ifrit 20 is dropped by Blue Kentaurus, Nest Golem, Nest Golem, Jr. Newtie, and Wooden Fish. However, Ifrit 30 is only obtainable through GPQ.

Before getting your fourth job advancement, obtain the Frozen Book of Ice

which can be found by killing a Blue Kentaurus.


[Ice Demon]
Then, go to your fourth job instructor in Leafre, Gritto, to become an Arch Mage and activate the Ice Demon questline.


[Blizzard]
Begin the Blizzard quest by talking to your third job instructor, Robeira.


[Blizzard]
Travel to Korean Folk Town to talk to Wiz the Librarian.

From there, head over to your first job instructor in Ellinia, Grendel the Really Old.


[Ice Demon]
Next, talk to your third job instructor in El Nath, Robeira.
