    Agree. The possibility of having damage decrease on level up without doing anything is comically bad design that I can't believe actually went through.

    We should change all job's formula to penalise players for adding secondary stats, to remind people to add their main stat.:love:

    A mage who starts gradually adding luk in anticipation of equiping a a timeless overall or elemental staff will now see his or her damage go on a decreasing trend every level up until reaching the level of the new gear. This is just hilarious af.

    The only way to circumvent this is to stay pure int first and use AP reset. Wait I thought staff was trying to reduce reliance on AP reset???? Hp challenges and whatnot.

    You are all taking this nerf way too seriously.

    If you look at the chart these moderate goals aren't to difficult to attain. Unless you are washing or have mismanaged your mesos. Cheap washing gear is all you need for the lower levels.

    And as for luk mages you really don't want to be wasting your points in luk. Unless you have a bunch of money you are better off being lukless. You can always reset it back in when you can eventually afford the timeless gear or you want to get the elemental staff.

    You are basically setting your mesos on fire trying to scroll mage restricted gear. Unlike other class gear you will not find buyers for it in any timeley manner, and all those luck mages everyone talks about are extremely wealthy their situation doesn't apply to most people. It will also be worth less than whatever you put into it.

    -Need 4~5 people with signs that fills all roles
    -Need mage pinner has dp to actually be able to kill mage
    - Need SE to pin pirate since its the only class that can do it in a reliable way (challenge impossible)
    - Need to move all these chars to pq map
    - Need to gather hearts
    All these are small easy tasks that gather up

    Bosses:
    - cleave: 3 bosses, spawns alot of mobs very frequently, stuns, pushes
    - mage: need constant dp with a different char
    pirate: need puppet, need to use portal to avoid sharks, might be easier for bm but less afk for mm

    Also why the fuck do i need to use a VM to get proper rewards from the most demanding pq in the game?
    People here really like to suffer fr i see no way to justify this change

    It is not a separate formula. The reason is because the new formula now has 2 components:
    1. Damage up by level up regardless of AP (the Z part)
    2. Damage goes down if your TMA did not increase by at least 5. (The magic - Z part) Unless you are changing gear, the 5 tma will come from the 5 int added.

    Hence upon level up adding int is mainly to prevent damage from going down. Which is counterintuitive to what we have experienced so far, where any AP added is to increase damage.

    can we nerf axe warriors next

    The only thing that bothers me about the mage changes is that it would've been about as complicated to craft a formula that didn't nerf the downtrodden and only buffed the insanely geared. In a rash world optics matter more than the tangible results of any action.

    Idk how you interpret what ive said to suffering and playing in hard mode, since its literally whats needed for a typical 4man run, but as you said, you do you.
    I juat cant understand how you call cwkpq afk content when you got things like krex/rav which are truly afk.

    I don't mean to reply to you specifically, but in general of this change.
    Doesn't this sounds weird af? Like you level up, but now you do less damage if you didn't INT or TMA +5.

    Exactly this. Why are we nerfing those shitty mage's single dpm. They already suck as single dpm, so just nerf them more?
    If you want to nerf, might as well nerf their ulti to stop naked mage farming easily, which is the only thing that makes sense for undergeared mages.

    With cracked gear yes. But its not just the end that matters, what about the process. You can't possibly see this new formula where adding 4 int when u lvl and seeing your damage fall and call it a well thought out solution.

    Only if you're naked though. If you were using a naked attacker you wouldn't complain about dealing low boss damage, would you?

    For reference, if you would add 1 into Paralyze at 120, use an NT wand (120tma) instead of an ele wand, with a pretty mediocre gear setup (958 tma after pot+mw20), you'd gain about 16-17%~ damage on the new formula with Paralyze 1. With the same gear but a 105tma wand2, you'd gain around 13-14%. If you want to discount MW20, despite it still having incredibly scaling with mages, you would still gain 6%~ damage after the new formula with NT, about 1% with wand2. This change is to both punish naked mages, make their level scaling a bit worse whilst making their gear scaling a bit better, to get more viability in bossing situations if you invest in it like you would with a regular attacker.

    Which is also why ults remained untouched, since those are used for farming, leech, etc. We don't want to screw up people's plans for those kind of things so this changes absolutely nothing for mage ult spammers.

    even traditional luk builds stop adding 1 luk per level at some point. if you only need 100 total luk then you’re already covered 17-19 by scar/targa, 23-27 by htp/timeless pendant, 5 from cwk cape, and a bit more if you have auf. the other half you can just get from random tl gears leveling, no scrolling/chaos required.

    oh yeah not to mention int is no longer a favored stat over tma
