    Hi, I've received requests to access my Optimal AP Reset Usage spreadsheets, which I had made private. That got me thinking if I could just make a simple formula or code so that you input the amount of extra MP you want to achieve, and it gives you the least AP Reset usage along with the amount of base INT you need to invest and the amount of MP Wash.

    At first, I thought I'd ask some GPT models like ChatGPT, Claude, Phind, etc. I'd input a bunch of HP/MP Washing concepts, like how 10 base INT gives 1 MP on level up and per wash. However, none of them yielded positive results. Then I realized I was making things too complicated.

    After about an hour of tinkering, I finally came up with this prompt:

    Find the smallest possible A that satisfies the following conditions:
    1. The inequality: M ≤ L × floor(N/10) + L × (floor(N/10)-2) × 5
    2. A is defined as: A = (N - 4) + (L × 5)
    3. L is a whole number between 5 and 195 (inclusive)
    4. N is a multiple of 10 between 30 and 1000 (inclusive)
    5. M = 5000
    After finding the smallest A, show the values of N and L that were used to achieve this result.

    In this case, I'm using 5000 MP as the input, hoping it will give me the correct answer. Sure enough, I was finally able to get what I wanted.

    ljr215-2.png

    After some adjustments, here's the final code:

    Code:
    import math

    def find_least_APR(MP):
        min_APR = float('inf')
        best_Lv = None
        best_Int = None

        for Lv in range(5, 196):
            for Int in range(30, 1001, 10):
                APR = (Int - 4) + (Lv * 5)
                if MP <= Lv * math.floor(Int / 10) + Lv * (math.floor(Int / 10) - 2) * 5:
                    if APR < min_APR:
                        min_APR = APR
                        best_Lv = Lv
                        best_Int = Int

        return min_APR, best_Lv, best_Int

    mp = 2000
    result = find_least_APR(mp) # MP: 2000, AP Resets: 271, MP Wash Lvs: 25, Base Int: 150
    print(f"MP: {mp}, AP Resets: {result[0]}, MP Wash Lvs: {result[1]}, Base Int: {result[2]}")

    mp = 5000
    result = find_least_APR(mp) # MP: 5000, AP Resets: 421, MP Wash Lvs: 41, Base Int: 220
    print(f"MP: {mp}, AP Resets: {result[0]}, MP Wash Lvs: {result[1]}, Base Int: {result[2]}")

    mp = 13000
    result = find_least_APR(mp) # MP: 13000, AP Resets: 671, MP Wash Lvs: 65, Base Int: 350
    print(f"MP: {mp}, AP Resets: {result[0]}, MP Wash Lvs: {result[1]}, Base Int: {result[2]}")

    mp = 24000
    result = find_least_APR(mp) # MP: 24000, AP Resets: 911, MP Wash Lvs: 83, Base Int: 500
    print(f"MP: {mp}, AP Resets: {result[0]}, MP Wash Lvs: {result[1]}, Base Int: {result[2]}")

    Output:
    ljr215-1.png

    You can copy-paste the code into the python sandbox to calculate your own.

    https://pythonsandbox.io/

    This is accurate to the nearest 5 AP Resets as I calculated it by the amount of levels, which is 5 AP each, rather than individually as it's much simpler.

    However, I did an update on my spreadsheet to make it more accurate to a single AP Reset. I will open it up again temporarily for you to make a copy if you wish.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GHuwdG7y5zwlDP2cXIb9W5tg3NmyWCqEh1hsDNmKSgQ/edit?usp=sharing

    All you have to do is change the white cell to the amount of extra MP you wish to gain, and the rest will auto-calculate for you. The colors indicate how many levels in total you need to accumulate the base INT plus the number of levels you need to MP Wash.

    ljr215-3.png

    It's similar to a quadratic function, where the peak of the curve represents the optimal point.

    Enjoy!

    Hey ya! Previously, I mentioned my next goals were to pass 3 slots of WS10 on my 25 WAtt, 5-slot Dragon Khanjar, as well as making a 133+ WAtt Pescas. I estimated this to cost about 10bil meso in total, assuming pcoins are at 2mil each.

    Since I'll be expecting some value from the sale of my current dagger and shield, I'll aim for 8bil meso. This is still a daunting amount for me to earn. Currently, I'm almost left with nothing, just 5mil meso for pots!

    To make this goal more approachable, I'll break it down into milestones. The 3x WS10 is pretty straightforward, with an expected cost of about 3k pcoins, or about 6bil if pcoin prices remain relatively close to 2mil meso each.

    For the Pescas, I'll need to pass at least 4 slots with 30% scrolls to reach 133+ WAtt—that’s about a 0.81% chance or 1 in 123.45679 daggers! If each average stats dagger costs 30mil meso on average, it would be about 4bil total meso for the daggers and 30% scrolls.

    Planned Milestones:
    1. Earn 1,000mil meso / 500 pcoins
    2. Earn 2,000mil meso / 1,000 pcoins
    3. Earn 4,000mil meso / 2,000 pcoins
    4. Earn 6,000mil meso / 3,000 pcoins
    5. Earn 8,000mil meso / 4,000 pcoins
    - each pcoin is 2mil meso

    1. Collect 10 clean Pescas
    2. Collect 25 clean Pescas
    3. Collect 50 clean Pescas
    4. Collect 75 clean Pescas
    5. Collect 125 clean Pescas
    - each (+1) Pescas is 3 clean Pescas
    - each (+2) Pescas is 10 clean Pescas
    - each (+3) Pescas is 33 clean Pescas

    Since this will be a slow progress, I'll probably update about once a week.

    Current Milestone (week 0):
    Meso (1/5): 0 / 1,000mil
    Pescas (1/5): 0 / 10

    I've decided not to include Dolls and Peels farming as part of my earning routine, as they require more characters and inventory management, which can be a bit of a pain. So, my sole income will be from farming Dual Ghost Pirates.

    However, I do intend to invest a portion of those earnings into scrolling opportunities, which will hopefully multiply my earnings. Certainly, they come with the risk of losing everything, even though I'll only be choosing scrolling paths that are more in my favor, like TMA earrings, which I've done numerous times with a record positive net gain.

    ljr215-1.png

    Since there's an influx of new players, I thought it might be a good time to make them, as there could be a demand for budget TMA earrings. As usual, I'll be targeting making 22 TMA earrings by acquiring 2 MA Fallen Leaf Earrings, especially those with 3 Magic Def stats, because they would have just the right amount of stats to turn purple with 4x70% and 1x30% scrolls. Purple text items always sell pretty well, despite offering no practical improvement; it's more about the emotional value.

    ljr215-2.png

    With that said, I noticed that the stock and price of Earring for INT 70% scrolls aren't in a very healthy state. Hopefully, by the time I've earned enough, the market will be replenished.

    About 15 hours of farm this week.

    I'll be saving 200 mil for the week and investing 50 mil into scrollings. At 200 mil per week, it's going to take me about 40 weeks to reach 8 bil, slightly less than a year.

    Current Milestone (week 1):
    Meso (1/5): 200 / 1,000 mil
    Pescas (1/5): 0 / 10
    Planned Milestones:
    1. Earn 1,000mil meso / 500 pcoins
    2. Earn 2,000mil meso / 1,000 pcoins
    3. Earn 4,000mil meso / 2,000 pcoins
    4. Earn 6,000mil meso / 3,000 pcoins
    5. Earn 8,000mil meso / 4,000 pcoins
    - each pcoin is 2mil meso

    1. Collect 10 clean Pescas
    2. Collect 25 clean Pescas
    3. Collect 50 clean Pescas
    4. Collect 75 clean Pescas
    5. Collect 125 clean Pescas
    - each (+1) Pescas is 3 clean Pescas

    Earring for INT 70% scrolls got swept off the market, unfortunately. Guess I'll just use a mix of 60% and 70% scrolls. Bought 60% scrolls for 600k to 900k meos each.

    ljr216-3.png

    Managed to collect 11 Fallen Leaf Earrings with 3 Magic Def and 7 that are either 1 or 2, totaling 18 earrings. We'll first see how many of them can get a +1 with 60%/70% scrolls.

    ljr216-1.png

    Fallen Leaf Earrings:
    11 with 3 Magic Def
    7 with 1-2 Magic Def

    After the first round of scrolling, we are left with 7 3MD and 4 1/2MD pieces. A little below average result but still not that bad.

    ljr216-2.png

    Fallen Leaf Earrings (+1):
    7 with 3 Magic Def (7/11, 63.6%)
    4 with 1-2 Magic Def (4/7, 57.1%)

    Meso Damage:
    60%/70% scrolls ~16 mil
    Earrings ~34 mil

    The aim is to get as many to +3 with 60%/70% scrolls, then decide whether to do 1x70% and 1x30% for a 22 TMA or 2x30% for a 27 TMA, which could sell for up to 3 times the price.

    1x70%, 2x30% (21%)
    Expected Cost ~72 mil
    Expected Sale ~120 mil

    2x30% (9%)
    Expect cost ~322 mil
    Expected Sale ~360 mil
    Making a bunch of 22 TMA definitely seems like a better choice in terms of risks and profit margin, and possibly having a larger buying audience. But I can consider trying my luck on hitting a 2x30% early for, say, the first 3 earrings before giving up to minimize the loss.

    Today we go for another round to make +2 earrings with 60%/70% scrolls.

    ljr217-1.png

    Fallen Leaf Earrings (+2):
    1 with 3 Magic Def (1/7, 14.2%)
    1 with 1-2 Magic Def (1/4, 25%)

    Meso Damage:
    60%/70% scrolls ~26 mil
    Earrings ~34 mil
    RIP crymush

    Very unfortunately, I'm only left with one (+2) 3MD, which I then proceeded to turn into +4 with 2 more 70% scrolls.

    ljr217-2.png

    Now I just need to pass this with a 30%. annoyedmush (pls?)

    If I value the Earring for INT 30% scroll at 14 mil, then the total meso damage to make this would be ~74 mil. Still not too bad, right?

    Sold the 22 TMA Fallen Leaf Earrings for 140 mil meso! About 64 mil meso profit after production cost and tax. A small win, but it's still so far off from 8 bil meso, urgh!

    ljr219-1.png

    Also, 40 weeks seems too long for my liking, so I'm going to try compressing it down to the end of this year, which is about 22 weeks from now, almost half the original estimated time. Since 1 week has passed, it'd be 23 weeks total, which requires earning about 350 mil/week in order to achieve the goal of 8 bil meso by the end of the year.

    If I'm able to maintain a 19 mil/hr earning rate, I'd need to farm an average of 2.63 hours every day. It's a little too much for me to squeeze in the time, but I'll see how it goes.

    I'll wrap up this week's earnings towards the end of the week, and hopefully, I'll be able to get some lucky gacha pulls.

    may I steal this post for suggestion cause Im Thread-Ban.
    make a Separation for classes scroll and common class scroll might as well balance the economic.
    since the HP wash burst, the drop-rate of good scrolls are drastically low to the point its became fixed-timer drop (ex: 3 hrs grind - pew a scroll tossed out).
    So make it class-specified scroll like Ints for mage eqs, Dex-Luck for thief, bow, mage equips, etc. So it doesn't affect gameplay of others.
    Just not spoil the fun of all because some individual exploiting it

    If you look at the class distribution provided by the staff, Bishop, I/L, and F/P combined take up about 38% of the population, with NL next at about 15%.

    https://forum.maplelegends.com/index.php?threads/july-2024-balance-changes-explained.54963/
    [IMG]

    Even with washing gear out of the equation, more than a third of the population is competing for the same set of scrolls and equips, so naturally, the demands are high.

    Moreover, the aggression in procuring INT gear for HP washing has decreased drastically after players became well-equipped with knowledge. They understand that INT gears are not essential in HP washing, which can be easily replaced by investing a couple more base INT for MP washing. Additionally, the release of HP challenges has reduced the fear of missing out from players who may have inadequate knowledge, which previously led to overvaluing INT gears.

    So, the bottom line is, I think the resource being class-specific is already aligned with what you mentioned.

    INT gears generally seem to be more expensive, especially 10%/30%, also because the stats they provide are different from what other stat gear do, with many 10%/30% scrolls providing more than twice the stats value of 60%/70% scrolls. For example, an Earring for INT 10%/30% scroll gives 8 TMA, while a 60%/70% gives 3 TMA, compared Earring for DEX/LUK scrolls, which gives 3 stats and 2 stats upgrade from 10%/30% and 60%/70%. Chaos Scrolls are often used for non-INT stats because of that, so if you see it that way, it's actually much more expensive to gain other stats over magic. This could serve as a counterbalance to the high prices of general INT scrolls.

    As you further upgrade your gear, you'll reach a point where every class needs to invest almost the same amount. For example, making a perfect weapon, passing MW20/30, and many other gear upgrades that are valued over 300 mil meso, and to a point where every stat upgrade requires a huge amount of investment for diminishing returns.

    The key is to find the threshold in the beginning, where you get the most value for your time and mesos. In the case of TMA earrings, for example, 24 TMA may cost about 200 mil mesos, while 19 TMA can be obtained for less than 90 mil. A 5 TMA difference can easily be made up by leveling up your character once, definitely at a cost less than the time needed to earn the cost difference.

    Thanks for reading.

    Hi, after some thought, if I'm going to spend 4bil trying to scroll a half-assed Pescas, it might be better to use that meso to attempt an 8+ WAtt on a clean perfect Timeless Pescas. If it doesn't go well, I can still scroll it.

    With 4bil, I'd be able to afford about 16 perfect TL Pescas. If you remember the level up table, there's about an 8.64% chance for a Timeless weapon to gain at least 8 WAtt, which is about 1 in 11.6 attempts on average, meaning there's a good chance to achieve it within 16 tries.

    [IMG]

    Also, if you'd like to try your luck by sponsoring me a clean perfect Timeless Pescas for gambling on leveling 8+ WAtt and receive 3bil meso (previously was 1k p-coins), I'm opening up the offer again!

    A quick mid-week update: adding the sale of the earrings and the amount I've farmed so far, it totals to about 450mil meso. Gacha pulls haven't been great at all.

    Current Milestone (week 1.5 / 23):
    Meso: 450 / 8,000 mil
    (screw the multi-part milestones)

    Also, I feel that trying to earn more from scrollings might end up slowing down my earning rate. As documented from one of my journals, I was able to earn 2bil in about 3 months solely from merching and scrolling, which is only about 167mil/week, less than half of what's needed to achieve 8bil by the end of the year. So, I've decided to abandon any sort of scrolling opportunity and focus fully on farming DGP.

    I got all excited by a yellow line only to be disappointed by a shitty cape.

    ljr220-1.png

    Although it's not exactly the worst, someone offered 27mil for it, which I promptly sold.

    ljr220-2.png

    It might be underpriced; I'm not too sure. Nevertheless, I managed to get close to 70mil meso worth of scrolls this session, which isn't too bad at all!

    Perhaps I could save these GFA30 scrolls for future projects.

    ljr220-5.png

    On top of the pink cape that I sold, it's about as good as half a CS/WS. A decent leap in earnings, definitely not forgetting all these Cape for INT 60% scrolls and Power Crystals that have yet to be liquidated.

    ljr220-6.png

    ljr220-7.png

    I'm actually waiting for the anniversary event to see if more purple capes are introduced into the market, which will increase the demand for cape scrolls, thus selling them for higher price.

    Also, I leveled up today to lv173, passing the 7k clean maximum range.

    Halloween is actually satanic and is such a terribly sinister period in this world each year. There are actual dark and disturbing rituals done to younger or older people in real life. There is nothing to celebrate about considering that it is such like paying homage to evil whence partaking on anything that relates to this "special day" disguised as just another form of entertainment and fun. I strongly suggest to skip this event patch (since it is already over and done with irl anyway) and release the all anticipated and appreciated Christmas events which is about the Saviour's arrival to this world and is very much worthy of a celebration by the inhabitants as humanity. Good (Christmas) triumphs evil (Halloween).

    I finished up the remaining slots on my previous +2 Fallen Leaf Earrings, successfully passing all with 70% scrolls, and managed to sell them for a good amount of 36 mil meso.

    Got some decent gacha pulls as well, a couple of scrolls worth ~10 mil total and a Yellow Marker worth around 23 mil.

    Farmed for a few hours, sold a few scrolls, and managed to reach a total of 748 mil meso in earnings before the end of week 2! This means I've reached the quota for the week, and I should take advantage of this to further widen the gap when I have the time so that I can take some breaks in between later.

    Current Milestone (week 1.7 / 23):
    Meso: 748 / 8,000 mil

    There's going to be a patch maintenance later, which means there's a potential for 3 days without any farming.

    Hopefully, the extra 150 mil meso that I've farmed for the week will be sufficient to cover the missing days.

    Current Milestone (week 2 / 23):
    Meso: 850 / 8,000 mil

    Here's something you might be interested in: below is a table that shows the chance of at least a certain number of WS10 passing, with the x-axis representing the number of successful WS10 and the y-axis representing the number of attempts.

    For example, there's a 74.58% chance that at least 1x WS10 will pass over 13 attempts, and a 51.54% chance that at least 3x WS10 will pass over 27 attempts.

    However, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this table as there is a possibility that I might have made a mistake in the calculation. But at first glance, the values seem legit.

    Although some cells may show 100%, it is never truly 100%; this is due to rounding. It is extremely unlikely that one would never pass a 10% scroll with this number of attempts.

    Guess I'll see you after the patch maintenance! I'll share if anything interesting comes up in my mind.
