    Hello Maplers!

    In this patch we, the staff team, have made the conscious decision of changing up some of the end-game grind-spots. We're pretty excited to see how these changes shake up the current meta of monk slaughtering and mannequin ruining. However, we aren't done just yet, the future is looking promising!

    Wigs? Fedoras? Bunny Suits!? If you still don't know what we're talking about, we're talking about your favorite mannequins! Taipei 101 introduced these adorable creatures to us, however, they proved to be too good. We decided to remove that one quality that made them amazing passive money-generators (AFK farming), an event farming hotspot and overall being too good for players way past the area's level range. Spirit of Rock also had some tweaking to make the fight against this naughty boy a proper one. Here are the following changes: (Credits to SnoozeySnoozey for fixing and working on these changes!)

    • Removal of auto-aggro from Kid Mannequin.
    • Removal of auto-aggro from Female Mannequin.
    • Removal of auto-aggro from Male Mannequin.
    • Spirit of Rock attack range significantly reduced, you now must be on the same floor to get hit.
    • Spirit of Rock's dash attack now knocks the player backwards.
    • Spirit of Rock now properly casts darkness to the player.

    The popular Shaolin Temple is a well-known grind-spot for mid-ranged and high-level players alike. We believe this grind-spot was pretty dominant for a long time and it needed to be hit. These are the following changes: [EXP values are under 1x rates]

    • Reduced the EXP of Mini Gold Martial Artist from 15350 to 14890.
    • Reduced the EXP of Mini Bronze Martial Artist from 7765 to 7550.
    • Reduced the EXP of Golden Giant from 15000 to 14890.
    • Reduced the EXP of Silver Giant from 12835 to 12435.
    • Reduced the EXP of Bronze Staffman from 7800 to 7550.
    • Reduced the EXP of Silver Spearman from 12295 to 11935.
    • Removed the footsteps of a majority of the safe spots in Sutra Depository 3-4 F and Sutra Depository 5-6 F.

    Despite all the nerfs hitting Shaolin Temple, we also decided to compromise and adjust Neo-Tokyo more positively, expecting it to become a much more viable grinding and farming spot to end-game players. Despite the previous buffs, we hope this is the push this area needs to enter viability. These are the following changes: [EXP values are under 1x rates]

    • Increased the EXP of Afterroad from 10200 to 11350.
    • Increased the EXP of Overload from 6560 to 7100.
    • Increased the EXP of Protoroad from 10300 to 10500.
    • Increased the EXP of Maverick A from 10300 to 12150.
    • Increased the EXP of Maverick Y from 10400 to 12270.
    • Increased the EXP of Maverick B from 10500 to 13500.
    • Increased the EXP of Maverick V from 9400 to 10800.
    • Increased the EXP of Eruwater from 11000 to 13175.
    • Increased the EXP of Dunas from 1110000 to 2450000.
    • Increased the EXP of Maverick S from 8320 to 13500.

    Man, I don't mind exp nerfs (Shaolin will still prob be the go-to training spot), but this:
    is just annoying. I get that it's probably meant to make it harder to leech but plenty of good leech maps have plenty of safe spots.

    Not sure about the mannequin auto-aggro nerf, it will hit warrior second and third job lvling extremely hard being so immobile until rush. Will see how they feel after the nerf before making up my mind about continuing to use the map at all.

    How can you nerf Manne's but not GS? If you wanna nerf warrior leveling, should probably also nerf bishop leeching since it's ruining the game way more than manne's. Where else can warriors get even remotely comparable xp/m to mages at GS?

    It really doesn't make sense for mages to afk in a safe spot like 3-4 5-6 and press 1 button for exp. It makes other training spots look like a joke.
    7f is most likely still the same though

    The Mannequins nerf seems to really punish warriors, yet Priests don't seem to be slowed down by these changes much at all. I think I disagree with the Mannequin nerfs.

    It was mentioned in the discord, but it's in the patch notes as well.. while I agree personally, it wouldn't really address the AFK farming issue at all. Not sure if there's really any actual good solution to the problem here though.

    Sounds like they've just removed most of the afk spots from Shaolin, there will still be spots to put leeches/buffs they just won't be in convenient spots for casting your ults endlessly.

    The Mannequin nerf is more interesting. While it is a negative for solo players it's probably an improvement for partying there. A DK and priest could still do alright there with Roar, but honestly Gallos would probably be better. It's still hard to say whether or not it will be viable at level 90+ and I feel like people will just go back to the old, boring options, like Gallos and Himes. Late third job is a giant pain, and removing the viability of another spot is probably a bad thing as it'll push people back towards leech. It does chase most of the high level farmers away but at the same time the gap between training and leeching in 3rd job just got larger and I feel like it's a discouragement to those players. Balancing probably should have also given them more alternatives to go to instead of only nerfing the super viable spot.

    I can see why a lot of 3rd job people are upset at the change, it is really discouraging to lose good spots to train, and more discouraging to find that leeching is the best path up when the other options are dozens of hours of gallos and himes.
