5600 is enough with HB, although I'd push for at least 6300 so you can help with legs. To do without HB you'd need at least 7400 or so, or 10000 if you want to help with legs.

 

~5,800 is the minimum to survive dispel + Left Head blast. With HB that'll make it ~9,300 which is enough to tank a buffed wings hit.

To kill Legs you need just over 10,000 HP, which comes to about 6,300 without HB.

There's HB on most people's runs, but I think the easiest way to get on runs is to get in a guild that has open sign-ups for HTs a few days in advance. Getting invited to HTs is mostly something that happens when you are very strong already and can do 5-6 man runs. Need to network and sign up for runs first, then hopefully the invites to HT come later if it seems like you know what you're doing.

 

Don't people do 12 man HT runs anymore? You know ... for some mesos/exp?

 

There are still 12 man runs for fun, but not mesos / exp.

For mesos / exp people tend to do 1 party or 1.5 party runs.

 

An ad buffed wing flap can hit up to 12k, give or take. These are avoidable through know-how, though.

There's probably some groups of lower level / equips out there who do

 

Saying 'no they don't' shouldn't deter you from bossing. Just go and form a group of friends that would be willing to go. HT isn't a solo-able boss and there are no policies restricting larger groups from running.

There's some weird obsession and culture from the upper echelon of bossers that has been leaking down to other players that every decision must be calculated to be economic and meso-efficient when that's just simply not true. You can still gain experience (both in-game and skill-wise) from HTing by running more. You'll lose meso from pot burn initially, but if you go more, you should improve, your character will level up, and you'll eventually get to the point where it does become meso-efficient (faster runs, smaller groups, higher completion rates).

 

People do, though not as regularly as one party runs since they're harder to organize.
