Why is Account Sharing Bad?

When all else fails, Google is your friend. So a quick search seems to suggest that this rule is in ToS mainly to ensure fair competition in a game and to remove any recourse from the owner of a hacked account due to account sharing.

 

so basicly if u have trust issues you don't share accounts, or items... or mesos... or informations about hmm... your name for example? XD

As I already said somewhere, if acc sharing is giving players an unfair advantage over other players, then so does borrowing/sharing equips etc. following that logic we should ban TRADE overall

 

Just consider how much trouble "sharing equipment" has caused. People get scammed and shafted occasionally when this happens, then there's drama, angst, ill feelings toward the staff cause the proof isn't solid enough or whatever. Even Franco got screwed over by an incident like this, where the person was banned, but the items were basically destroyed.

Logically following this to TRADE, however, is completely retarded. Sorry but I just can't do the mental gymnastics and make that leap.

The problem is, for the purpose of rule enforcement, sharing equipment can be extremely hard to tell from legitimate trade at times. Hell, people even drop stuff on the ground. You simply can't enforce it at all, and there isn't really a reason to. Because if throwing items away and giving free items away to another player is ok, then it's nearly the same thing as lending out equipment, only you expect it to be "given back".

 

Don't worry, I'm just trolling mostly, there is no logic in most of things that come out of my.. keyboard.

One thing I know for sure. As long as there are rules restricting/forbidding something, there will also always be abusers of those rules.. so it doesn't really matter if you change ToS, delete one or other thing in there.

yet don't seem to understand how if everyone else is following the rules, but you aren't and buffing yourself with SE, you have an unfair advantage.
