If I'm lvl <200 and I'm getting near 30k base mp or hp, should I reset it out so I don't waste any? Or does the game "remember" my actual hp/mp past 30k, but soft caps it to 30k?

Which of these scenarios is accurate?
    A mage for example:

    1) 29,999 MP before lvling
    2) lvl to make it 30,300 mp (players see this capped at 30k)
    3) AP reset out of MP into HP
    4) Base MP stays visually at 30k (max) even when using an AP reset because actual MP is at 30,300 (now 30,270 b/c 30 mp is taken out per reset)

    or

    1) 29,999 MP before lvling
    2) lvl to make it 30k mp (gained only 1 MP from lvling)
    3) AP reset out of MP into HP
    3) Base MP is now 29,970

If scenario 2 is accurate then I should be careful not to hit 30k base stat before I hit lvl 200 right?

You'll be playing most of your time before 200, so even if it's a hardcap, why not just get max HP earlier and benefit from the quality of life you get for having max HP/MP for more play time? Plus if you're waiting till 200 to hit max HP or MP, you'd be walking around with way lower stats for certain classes.

Warriors get around 50 HP per lvl and mages around... 90 MP? Or well probably more cus of the base INT you'll have each time you level. Assuming 30k by 200:
    - As a warrior you'll be at 27,500 HP at lvl 150
    - As a mage you'll be 25,500 MP at lvl 150

More HP/MP means more survivability + more pots saved :p So I would personally just get it earlier even if you go past the cap later on

ahh sorry I meant to say I need to keep my hp/mp at like 29,800 until 200 to not waste any lvl-up gains if a hard cap exists

Yeah that's the most efficient. You'll gain the extra 200 hp from equips anyhow, so you'll still effectively have 30k (while only 29.5k or whatever base hp). You can always reset a few hp into mp or vice versa if you're gonna cap.
