    I don't get why people keep standing on the ship, the ghosts are trying to clean it and you're bothering them. In reality, who really is the bad guy?

    Not sure how they are cleaning it with whips and anchors. But the ship only becomes clean once you defeat the Captain, lifting the curse on the ship.

    The ghosts conveniently left a dirty moss path that leads to Latanica. Perhaps they want you to defeat him so that the ship's curse can be lifted and they can stop respawning :O
