[Formal Proposal] Quester's Ring

This is such a good idea. I love doing quests but most of the rewards are laughable.

Use the completed quest book icon that bubbles at the NPC as the forum icon!

 

I really like this concept! I'm not that familiar with the more meta side of things, but as someone who loves questing (it was my main method of leveling until about lv 50) but became discouraged after a while despite the nice 3x EXP boost, this would be more than enough to kick me back into it, which seems to be the case for a bunch of other folks too. It sounds like it'd be a really nice way to encourage a more varied, engaging leveling experience without straying from v0.62's "feel", I guess you could say. It's just incentivizing people to experience content that's already there, after all!

Wow, you have indeed the best thread for suggestion. I'll give this a bump too, and yes i think hp washing is a little too hard as of now. Where you need to vote like almost a year or more depending on your hp goals.

 

I don't suppose the sprites for each tier has been made yet, has it?

Also the radio silence from anyone from the powers to be is a bit maddenin' on such a well thought out proposal along with massive views and popular support.

Quests deserve love!!!

 

My only hope is that this isn't being addressed (or even commented on) because they are working on something similar.

This is an amazing proposal! Quests having boosted exp. is my favorite thing about MapleLegends.

Wish they had more questing incentives for higher levels (quests just totally disappear and oftentimes don't even give a single % after level 100).

 

A quest ring could be hard to implement, not to mention it would have certain cons such as being inconvenient for people whom did not focus on quests early on in the game. Some quests are unavailable after a certain level, so if this idea came to fruition it would put a portion of the player-base at a disadvantage.
There are many simpler alternatives to consider as well such as having specific quests implemented that increase your max mp/hp, or party quests without a level cap rewarding players with a similar item upon a set amount of completions.

 

Those problems of folks who have a head start has already been address'd at the start of the topic. There's already a function in-game (@charstats) that keeps track of how many quests each character has already done, so that really shouldn't be a big problem to intergrate like with the Monster Book.

 

Just because they can still achieve 900 quests to get the ring doesn't make it any less unfair for them, there are job-specific quests and level-specific quests which are far easier to complete than the average quests available to people who are already at a higher level, not to mention this will be a significant disadvantage for people who play as beginners since their options will be even more limited.
