    Entry #41 - Roses

We saw a slight increase in Yellow Valentine's roses this week. Thanks to everyone trying to finish their Ring of Passion before the event ends. To take advantage of this, we spent some time farming 5x channels of orange mushrooms at Hidden Street: An Empty House. We were averaging:
    • 5 Yellow Valentines per hour at 3m each
    • 5 to 8 Gacha per hour at 1m each
    • No notable amount of raw mesos, vendor trash, or scrolls.
For a net of ~4m/hour map/per mage (or ~20m across all channels)

Summary: Fun test. Nice to finish rings. Poor EV.

    Rating:
    4/10

    Entry #42 - Jonin

I call this map the "Budget Ninto" map. Since I can't yet 1-hit ninto's on the new bishops, I've been multi-maging at Ninja Castle #5. If you don't know how to get there, here's a map that I made. The pitfall (literally) is the floor gap on the right side. I'll keep a bishop on the left side of the map so that I'll always be able to door the right-most mage back if they get bumped into the pit. As an added bonus, this map was dropping both Red Valentine Roses and White Valentine Roses all week. Shout out to ExzyleExzyle for being the world's sweatiest loot goblin (featured below).

It takes 3 mages to cover the map. Over the last ~12 or so hours, we've been averaging:
    • At least one Shield for Magic Attack 60% every hour and a half.
    • Face Accessory for HP 30% and 60%, and Shield for Weapon Attack 10%, about 1 of these three per hour.
    • About 2m from raw mesos, 1m from vendor trash, and 1,000 jonin stars per hour.
    • 8 gacha per hour
For a net of ~18m/hour, or 5.9m per hour per mage.

Summary: High variance, but very profitable. The positioning is annoying, but manageable.

    Rating: 9/10

    Entry #43 - Ulu2

Undeniably one of the best maps for both multi-maging and selling leech. I logged 25 hours at this map over the path month, needless to say our local ulu2 legend DontAtMe was a frequent encounter. This month, we made considerable profit from both selling leech, and turning in hundreds of event raffles from the "Kill 888" event quest.

It takes 2 mages to cover this map. So far, excl. leech and raffles we've averaged:
    • 50 Power Elixirs per hour
    • Red Cravens, Red Pirate Top and Red Pirate Bottom
    • About 3.5m from raw mesos, 2m from vendor trash per hour
    • DEX Crystal Ore and Overall Armor for LUK... little gains
    • 4 Gacha per hour
For a net of ~12m/hour (before leech), or 5.6m per hour per mage. Selling leech at the same time pushing the map's EV upwards of 24m/hour.

Summary: Consistent income, and the ability to sell leech makes this one of the best maps in the game. Simple layout works well for running multiple channels.

    Rating: 10/10

    Entry #44 - SE Mule

Tada! Level 129! And that's how you make a SE mule... and with that, we've checked off another one of our goals set forth from the very start of this journal.

What's next? The original plan was to leech this character to 135, enough to finish MP Washing for 30k HP and 5k MP. However MilkydoorMilkydoor and Clam are pressuring me into going all the way to 10k MP, aka leech to 145.

    What are our medium-term goals?
    • Level up Sharp Eyes mule (129 of 129) - Accomplished!
    • Level up Bow Master (129 of 145) - New!

    Entry #45 - DPM #3

We bought a pair of 14 attack gloves (180c) and a 7 att pgc (140c) to upgrade our equip. We're now averaging a 7.32m dpm on the training dummies. Next best upgrade? I honestly think the best thing we can do to make progress on this goal is to focus on leveling up. The irony is that we've been spending so much time with the multi-mages, that we haven't been doing much bossing on the Night Lord. It might be worth it to buy a few levels of leech, just to push up towards the next tiers of content - most notably NT and 6-man HT.

    Updated long-term goals

    Updated medium-term goals?

How are we doing on our real life goals? Thanks to Wheaties, WhispWhisp and the fun crew over in Duds, we've been inspired to track our 2024 real life goals in a similar fashion to how we track out silly mushroom game goals. So, where are we? We're 3 months into 2024, and to my surprise... considering it's been quite cold here... we're on track for hiking and biking goals! To my surprise, it looks like our photo goal is going to be the difficult one.

We spent some time in Yosemite and Sequoia in California as well as Phoenix, Arizona which really helped hit our hiking targets. If you haven't been to Yosemite, it's absolutely amazing, and feels like a land before time (photos below).

What are our 2024 real-life goals?

    1. Hike 100 miles (24 of 100) - Updated!
    2. Bike 1,000 miles (234 of 1,000) - Updated!
    3. Take 5,000 photos (810 of 5,000) - Updated!

    Entry #47 - I/L

Tada! The I/L can now 1-hit ulu2. It's sure nice being an Archmage, as it was just a matter of leeching to 130, and equipping the Elemental Wand 7. This character can now be used in a few additional maps as part of our multi-mage rotation. Most notably: ulu1, ulu2, viks, and red wyverns.

What's next? I'm thinking about adding a sixth mage to the line-up. Why? It opens up a number of additional combinations. Most notably allows for some flexibility doing 3x3, 4x2, 2x2x2, and 3x2x1 multi-channel setups.

Q: Should our sixth mage be a Bishop or an Ice/Lightning?

What mages do we currently have?
    1. Bishop (175)
    2. F/P (157)
    3. I/L (131)
    4. Bishop (125)
    5. Bishop (125)
Our current setup is able to cover the majority of, and combinations of, the most common multi-mage maps. There's only a few desirable maps that we don't currently infrastructure to do efficiently, most notably: Ninto (soon), Squids (soon), Ulu3, Dark Wyverns, Sharks, 5-6, and the Temple of Time maps. With the exception of Nintos, and Squids, I don't foresee our current mage line-up being able to support the above maps. And that may be O.K.?

    Choices:

    A. Add a sixth mage that's an Ice/Lightning. Benefits:
    1. Fewer levels needed to get to squids, and ulu1/ulu2.
    2. Adds ulu3 and dark wyverns as options.
    3. Adds a third Archmage for Temple of Time and other high level mobs.
    4. Doesn't need to buy Genesis 30.
    5. ...etc
    B. Add sixth mage that's a Bishop. Benefits:
    1. Reduced MP costs.
    2. Slightly fewer levels needed to get to Nintos.
    3. Adds a fourth Bishop for resurrections at AFK Zak helms :)
    4. Adds a fourth Bishop to mule in Pink Bean?
    5. ...etc
    ...thoughts?

    What are our medium-term goals?
    • Level up I/L to 1-hit Ulu2 (951 of 951) - Accomplished!
    • Level up I/L to 1-hit Ninto (951 of 1196) - New!

    Entry #48 - Warrior Washing

Just published our latest guide - Krythan's Warrior Washing Guide. In the past month or so, I've seen an unusual amount of questions about washing warriors. And in the case you haven't personally looked, even though warrior washing is relatively straight forward compared to other washes, there are very few good resources on washing a warrior that one can send players to. I thought it would be a good time to take the opportunity and see if this might help. Enjoy!

I'm leaning towards Ice/Lightning. When looking at the tma that a I/L needs for ulu2/squids (951), there's a considerable jump to what a Bishop needs (1185). While the pot costs for a Bishop are better, it's going to take a long time for those decreased pot costs to offset the upfront investment to get to that threshold.

in the long long run, bishops are always incredibly useful for PB muling and you can never really have too many

Bishop is better, plus with 6 mage setup you could do something like ulu1 + another map, bishop doesn't struggle too hard to hit ulu1.

Also, i/l needs more tma than bishop to 1hit ninto

The most obvious is bishops will have 100% Holy Symbol up-time. The rate at which my bishops have leveled up compared to my IL is pretty insane.

I agree with you all, but playing devils advocate here to make sure we make the right choice.

You think 4 Bishops is an improvement over the 3 Bishops I already have?

That's true. My current low level Bishops are going to be stuck at viks and ulu1 for a while. Not only is it going to take a few levels, and a decent amount of gear investment to reach 1185 tma, but they're all going to be NX gated... since they're all Stale HP Washing in prep for PB, etc.

I've found that I/L is effective at Ninto's as early at 950 tma. You're clearing 100% of the Jonin, and the 2-hit on the Ninto's is actually quite sustainable thanks to the ice freeze effect.

Ha ha, there's no way that's a fair comparison. Maybe if you're single client-ing, but there's no way the % HS bonus is going to beat the fact that you can ulu2/nintos/wyvern/squids about 15 to 20 levels earlier... is it?

Are there any other high level maps that an Archmage can cover, that a Bishop can't? I'm thinking about maps like....
    • Dark Wyverns
    • Memory Lane 5
    • Ulu3
    • Any other Temple of Time maps?
    • etc.
Maps where an Archmage could cover where a Bishop (realistically, < 1,300 tma) wouldn't...

    Entry #49 - Milestones

We're making progress. We leeched the Bow Master to 145. Many thanks to DearAgony absolutely crushing the Petri leech. This should give up the MP we need to reach 30k HP / 10k MP. Thanks to clamclam and MilkydoorMilkydoor for encouraging us to aim for 10k MP. What's next? Time to gear up this character to be a duo attacker...

    What are our medium-term goals?
    • Level up Bow Master (129 of 145) - Accomplished!
    • Upgrade SE Mule's dummy dpm (?m of ?m) - New!
