May, 2024 - This guide has been updated! Now with more updated information, and guidance. Please see: Krythan's Washing Gear Guide | Efficiently Buying and Scrolling for INT

What are the most common equips. that are used for washing gear? Aka, what item should I be owl-ing for?

    Intro

So, you're planning to wash a character? Time to get all the INT you can get your hands on. This means scrolling, buying, and borrowing INT gear. Here's a list of the most common INT gear equipment.

Washing on a budget? Read suggestions in this comment.

If you're not familiar with the concept of washing, or just want to learn more, I recommend reading section "6. Washing" in the Getting Started guide.

    Weapons
Level 0: [IMG] Red or Blue Maple Flag, +0-2 INT, 7 slots
    • Obtainable from events. Slighter cheaper to scroll due to the fact that Sword Scrolls are more affordable than Wand Scrolls.
Level 0: [IMG] Sword, 7 slots
Level 8: [IMG] Wooden Wand, 7 slots
    • Sold in the Ellinia Weapon Shop. Equip-able by any class. Players will often go through a few of them before landing a Wand for Magic Att. 10% scroll.
Level 48: [IMG] Diao Chan Sword, +0-2 INT, 7 slots
    • Dropped by Cloud Fox. Relatively easy to scroll. Alternatively, the Heart Wand is another popular choice, but requires level 54.

    Hats
Level 0: [IMG] Blue Maple Bandana or [IMG] Maple Bandana Blue. +0-3 all stats, 7 slots.
    • Only available during the Anniversary Event. Often available in the Free Market. For a more affordable option, see the other Maple Bandanas which provide up to +3 bonuses at a more affordable price.
Level 10: [IMG] Black Bandana +0-2 INT, 7 slots.
    • These are dropped by various mobs and can be obtained from Gachapon. More rare on the market.
Level 10: [IMG] Green Bandana, 10 slots.
    • With additional slots, the Green Bandana offers an option for those who want to test their luck with scrolls. Dropped by Leprechaun.
Level 20: [IMG] Purple Wisconsin +0-2 INT, 7 slots.
    • These are obtained from Gachapon but can be found in the Free Market for a modest price.
Level 50: [IMG] Zakum Helmet, +13-17 INT, untradeable
    • The Zakum Helmet is a relatively affordable option, that gives up to a whopping +17 INT and 10 slots. At the time of writing, AFK Zak service is around ~15m. Just remember to do the Zakum Prequest beforehand! You could also consider any of the Scarlion or Targa Hats (with the INT version being the best) - they're available later then Zakum (80), but have a much easier prequest. Are you an attacker? Make sure you're not scrolling your end-game helm for INT, as you can only hold one of each of these items.
    Gloves
Level 10: [IMG] Yellow Work Gloves, +0-2 INT, 5 slots
    • These may be obtained from the quest Protect Luca's Farm on Maple Island. These are also dropped by Cheap Amplifiers. Gloves for Magic Attack scrolls are one of the more expensive INT scrolls, so scrolling these will not be cheap.
Level 10: [IMG] Green Mittens, 6 slots.
    • The 'budget' version of Brown Work Gloves, with 6 slots.
Level 10: [IMG] Brown Work Gloves, 7 slots.
    • While these gloves a higher possible INT due to their 7 slots instead of the standard 5, they're highly desired for endgame attackers, making them very expensive. The scrolls are also very expensive. Not recommended.
Level 20: [IMG] Red Marker, +1-3 int, 5 slots
    • Obtainable through Gachapon. A more affordable option for those willing to compromise.
Level 20: [IMG] Yellow Marker, 7 slots
    • Same as the Brown Work Gloves. Theoretically they have a higher max INT due to the improved 7 slots, but the cost of the item and scrolls make it very expensive.
Level 50: [IMG] Goddess Wristband, +4 INT*, 5 slots, untradeable
    • This item was buffed in MapleLegends*, giving a nice +4 INT. May be worth running the Orbis PQ 30 times for this reward. This item is untradeable, meaning there's no resell value, so think about it before sinking a few pricey Gloves for Magic Attack scrolls into it. Please note, at the time of writing, the maplelegends.com/lib site does not show the correct stats.

    Overall

    Level 20
: [IMG] [IMG] Bathrobes, 10 slots
    • They can be purchased for 30,000 mesos from Momoyo in Zipangu inside the Spa. Most popular option as they offer 10 slots, and are easy to resell should you scroll it well. Try to hit at least a 10% scroll, then add as many 30% scrolls as you dare before finishing with 60%. For a more budget friendly alternative, hit it with a few 70%'s and call it a day.

    Earrings

    Level 15
: [IMG] Single Earring / [IMG] Amethyst Earring, 5 Slots
    • Often scrolled due to the fact it is easily obtainable from Henesys Market for 7,000. Cheap and easy to obtain, so often players will try to land a cheaper 10% scroll before applying the more expensive 30% and 60% scrolls.
Level 30: [IMG] Red Emerald Earrings, +0-3 INT, 5 slots
    • More expensive that single earrings, but come with up to a nice +3 int. You can find versions with +2 INT for good prices. Obtainable through Gachapon.
Level 80: [IMG] Gold Emerald Earrings, +4-5 INT, 5 slots
    • An expensive alternative at higher levels. They are a rare drop from The Boss and Maverick B, but highly contested by endgame players, thus quite pricey.

    Shoes

    Level 10
: [IMG] White Christmas Sock, +0-2 INT, 7 slots
    • Obtainable during the Christmas Event, these socks come with INT and are wearable for all classes.
Level 30: [IMG] Squishy Shoes, +0-2 all stats, +3 speed, 5 slots, untradeable
    • Obtainable from Kerning PQ, either from dropping from King Slime or from KPQ-ing 20 times. Since these are +1 all stats, these are pretty decent shoes to wear, though running Kerning PQ just to get these shoes may not be the most efficient.
Level 50: [IMG] Yellow Snowshoes, +2-4 INT, 7 slots
    • The ultimate INT shoes. Expensive due to these shoes being end-game equipment for many DEX for attackers and INT for mages. These Snowshoes obtainable only as a drop from defeating Female Boss.
    Capes
Level 20: [IMG] Maple Cape, 5 slots
    • The Maple Cape is one of the lowest level capes in the game, making it a popular option for those who want to make INT capes for washing. However, it is only obtainable during the Anniversary Event, so it can be a bit expensive to get.
Level 25: [IMG] Old Raggedy Cape, +10 avoid, 5 slots
    • Probably the first cape you will get in the game and the easiest to obtain. You do the quest Stranger's Request in Kerning in order to get it. With 5 slots, it is easy to toss some cheap cape scrolls on there to get your first cape. Alternatively, the Ragged Yellow Cape is very similar, with a small HP bonus and obtainable via Gachapon, as well as any of the Icarus Capes if you're willing to pay a bit extra for speed/jump.
Level 65: [IMG] Yellow Gaia Cape, 8 slots
    • Yellow Gaia Cape has 3 more slots than the average cape, making it a good option for those who want to scroll a stat based cape. Obtainable through Gachapon.
Level 90: [IMG] Crimsonheart Cloak, +3-5 all stats, 8 slots
    • This attractive cape is up to +5 to all stats, which makes it a decent cape for anyone who wants to scroll one, with 8 slots as well. The only downside is that it is only obtainable through Crimsonwood Keep PQ Bonus or the FM, and that it has a high level requirement.

    Shields
Level 5: [IMG] Stolen Fence, 7 slots
    • Probably the most common shield you will see. Stolen Fences are popular due to the fact they are easily obtainable from Lith Harbor for 2k mesos, however, the scrolls themselves are very expensive. The pan lid shield is a prettier alternative.
Level 20: [IMG] Maple Shield, 10 slots
    • The extra 3 slots makes this item an amazing option. However, it can be very pricy since it's only from the Anniversary Event.

    Pendants

    Level 30:
[IMG] Warm Muffler, +1-3 All Stats
    • Obtained from events. Available in the FM for a reasonable price.
Level 50: [IMG] Silver Deputy Star, +5 all stats, +100 HP/MP, 3 slots
    • You can obtain this pendant from completing the (long) Bounty Hunter questline. Keep in mind, you must be higher level to finish the questline. You can also buy it from the Free Market for about 40mil.
Level 120: [IMG] Horned Tail Pendant, +6-8 (base), +23 (egged) all stats
    • One of the best pendants in the game. Obtained from Horntail, once 'egged' can provide upwards of +23 INT. This does however require quite a few steps, and should be considered end-game equip.

    Eye Accessories

    Level 35
: [IMG] Raccoon Mask, +1 accuracy, 7 slots
    • Obtainable from Gachapon. It's one of the few items you can scroll risk-free thanks to INT 100% scrolls giving the same +1 bonus as 60% scrolls. The level 45 White Raccoon Mask is also a perfectly valid option.

    Face Accessories

    Level ?: Event Items
    • Sometimes there are expiring items from seasonal events that provide INT on the Face Accessory slot, but they are rare.

    Tips

Some general tips to keep in mind:

    • Sellable - INT equips. are a liquid asset. Historically, they have retained their value, and are very easy to sell when compared to other items. If you're only planning to wash once character, you can often sell your INT items when done, and retain most if not all of your original investment.
    • Efficiency - Certain items are WAY cheaper to scroll for INT than others. For example, scrolls for gloves/shields are significantly more expensive than swords or capes, as such it makes sense to prioritize certain items for meso-efficiency.
    • Leech - When planning your washing, INT equips. may not always be the most efficient use of your meso. For example, at a certain level it's more efficient to buy leech, and MP wash for another level or two, that it would be to buy the gear necessary to generate the same amount of MP.
