    Entry #61 - Check-In #6

So, let's see where we're at!? We're getting closer to 1-hit ulu1 on our new bishops. I'd like to take a break from viks, so the idea of moving to ulu1 for a while sounds enjoyable. Especially as it reduces the burden of having to find combinations of maps with matching channel timers. We're capping the main Bishop's gear at 1296 tma for 1-hit skele, which means we can swap around a good amount of gear between mages. We've updated the numbers in our medium term goals to reflect these changes!

    What are our long-term goals
    • Run 6-man Horntail (1 of 2) / 18-man Pink Bean
    • Reach 30k HP on Night Lord (17,598 of 30,000)
    • Reach Level 175 on Night Lord (166 of 175)
    • Upgrade Night Lord's dummy dpm (7.4m of 9m)
    • Finish Monster Book on Night Lord (257 of 300) - New!
    What are our medium-term goals?
    • Level up F/P to 1-hit Petri (1,136 of 1,255) - Updated!
    • Level up I/L to 1-hit Ninto (984 of 1,196) - Updated!
    • Level up 2x Bish to 1-hit Ulu1 (1,048/1,059 of 1,082) - Updated!

We're getting closer to 1-hit ulu1 on the new bishops. Once we finish washing our current ~10 AP, and swap around some gear, we should have enough to hit this goal. Good thing the 2x vote event is live! This should open up some interesting combinations of maps.

Meanwhile, our I/L is sitting on 47 AP, but that doesn't really matter, as nothing we're doing actually changes when the I/L hits the next threshold.

    Entry #63 - Cards

In the process of planning out the next few areas for card hunting, we realized there was a lot of "cleanup" we had to do to close out some of the areas. This meant going back to Leafre to finish the Beetle and Dual Beetle sets. Visiting the Grave of the Mushmom for the Jr. Boogie sets, and finishing Dark Drake and Ice Drake while in Sleepywood. We'd also previously skipped out on Yellow King Goblin, Green King Goblin, and Red King Goblin when we last farming Korean Folk Town cards. These last three set were way easier that anticipated, as I'd since learned that it's faster to just buy the items from the FM to spawn the goblins.

Meanwhile, Prestigious Coin prices are all over the place this week. Coming down from ~3-3.1m last week, to a current ~2.7m, I took the opportunity to jump on a few smegas selling for 2.55-2.6m to convert some extra meso I had sitting around to coins.

    What are our long-term goals

    Entry #64 - Ulu1

Our new Bishops can now 1-hit Ulu1! This opens up a few more interesting combinations of maps. Most notably 4x1 combinations and eventually 4x2 (pending a sixth mage) combinations.

I'll be honest, Ulu1 is... ok. It's the "textbook" multi-mage map. At least, since the Temple of Time nerfs. The mob density is amazing. But... I don't particularly enjoy this map. It's a huge pain to sweep, and your mages get bounced all around. Normally it's not much of a problem, but the staggered nature of the map means you're always having to reposition one of the mages at any given time. The EV of the map as a whole is good, but since it takes 4 mages to cover all the platforms, the per-mage EV is all around fairly "average".

The best part about this map is that you don't have to find 2x channels with matching spawn timers. It's a great starting point for 4x mage setups, but it's not the end-all-be-all one would hope. Plus, the super low tma for Archmages, and the relatively low tma for Bishops makes this a great "starter" multi-mage map.

The high density of mobs results in a decent number of Gacha and NX. The drops themselves aren't particularly interesting. The Power Elixirs, DEX Crystals, and OA LUK 60% scrolls are... ok, the ETCs themselves have... ok value. If it wasn't for Red Cravens, this map would be much worse. The (rare) Perfect Craven makes a huge difference in the EV. Even the exp gained at this map on the mages/sweeper is... ok. It adds up over time. All these combined...

For a net of ~20m/hour, or 5.2m per hour per mage.

Summary: It's.. Ok. Slightly annoying layout, but overall, solid map for farming Gacha/Red Cravens. Very accessible for low level Archmages, and easy to get set up and running thanks to not having to search for matching channels.

    Rating: 7/10

And with that, we're on the final stretch of tma goals for our new bishops! Next stop? 1,185. That's for Ulu2 (1185), Squids (1185), and Ninto (1170).

    What are our medium-term goals?
    • Level up 2x Bish to 1-hit Ulu1 (1,082/1,083 of 1,082) - Accomplished!!
    • Level up 2x Bish to 1-hit Ulu2 (1,082/1,083 of 1,185) - New!

Ulu1 use to be lit in the old days when you could loot meso bags. Your NL sweeper would go around mu on all the mages and you'd make some insane raw meso. I think back then we were making around 28-32m per hour on this map. Lots of PE too, so if you had efficient mages, your potion costs per hour were very low if you used the pe

We'll see. I might post some "general guidance" at some point (at least, re-cap what this thread has covered). Though it'd have to come with a word of caution, as those who are ready to invest in the infrastructure for multi-maging often don't need a guide, and those that would benefit the most the information are likely to benefit the least from starting said project.

I can see that! The raw meso gains are pretty decent. I'm just sad I missed the days of safe spots, ultimates not staling out, multi-mage MU mules, and dark sight sweepers.

    Entry #65 - Echo

One of my long-term goals was to reach 9m dummy dpm with my Night Lord. I chose this number based on GurkGurk's famous DPM Compilation thread. You know what most of the entries in this thread have, that I haven't been accounting for in my metrics? Echo. With this addition, we're getting closer and closer to our 9m goal. There's still a long path ahead of us from our current 8m to a 9m dummy dpm, this goal (while ambitious) doesn't seem insurmountable the way it once did.

    Link: Krythen (166 NL | 3259 ~ 5778 | Echo, MW20, SE, Cider): 8.05m

And... of course NightzNightz had to conveniently show up and post a whopping 10.7m dummy dpm just to show off.

The adventure is shared! The accounts are not :)
Ha ha, I really like using "first person plural" pronouns. Referring to the multiple characters having a shared experience, as well as encompassing "you and I", the readers and participants in the following of said story.

I adopted this terminology when writing an original guide, and I like it, as I feel like it's much friendly/collaborative than if everything was first person singular vs second person.

    Entry #66 - More Cards

We're making better progress on our monster book that I'd initially expected. The last we checked in, we'd been working through the Deep Sleepywood and KFT card sets. Since then...

Next? NLC. East of New Leaf city is easily one of the ugliest areas of the game. But, we cruised through the sets none the less. At the "Krakian Jungle Basin" we parked a mage on every other platform, and grinded out the Street Slime, Mighty Maple Eater and Electrophant sets. At "Jungle Clearing" we multi-maged the Boomer and Urban Fungus sets. The Fire Tusk and Killa Bee cards were awkward due to the size of the maps. We should have skipped them, but once you have 2 or 3 cards in a set the sunken cost fallacy kicks in. Gryphon was annoying, but fast.. and we skipped I.AM.ROBOT.

Speaking of ugly areas... Showa Town. We skipped Crow, Fire Raccoon, Cloud Fox, either I'm unlucky or their drop rates are really bad. On antibishopantibishop's suggestion, the next map was "Showa Street 2". This map is unique in the fact there are 5 different card sets you can possible acquire here. We finished Extra C, Leader B, and Leader A before continuing to "Showa Street 1" for the last few cards of Extra A, and Extra B. Our next sets were Extra D and Bain. These sets took a while, but Male Boss is one of the easiest sets in the game to get, so that was nice.

We also had two instances of server maintenance this week. While we were able to snag our FM 1-1 spot, we were less than successful in camping and finishing our Faust, Jr. Balrog, and some of the Magnatia boss sets. I'd generally recommend just skipping any card set for an area boss that's frequently camped.

Having traveled to El Nath for Zakum, we continued our card hunt there. The "Valley of Snowman" map is wonderful. As we talked about in AnnolisAnnolis 's Orbis/Nath Guide, you can cover much of the map with a single mage ultimate, so we camped a few channels finished the Yeti, and Jr. Yeti sets. Next up, finished our Yeti and Pepe sets in "Ice Valley II', but we honestly should have just stayed at the previous map, as these tall vertical maps I find super awkward. Finally, the "The Crown-Flyer" was an absolute blast. A single mage can hit most of the platforms, so we camped 5x channels and collected the Pepe and White Fang sets in no time.

Total of 290 card sets collected... only 10 more to go!

What do people think? Do folks like this "log" style journal entry?

I'm a fan. You still have the quick summaries for those who just want the simple updates, but it's interesting to me at least to hear about the more granular details. More work though, so I wouldn't stress about it if it gets bothersome.

    Entry #67 - Babo

I wasn't planning to shop for a Red Craven, but every once and a while a very tempting smega pops up. A certain "magic boi" was selling a 76 Red Craven for 500 pcoins. As we'd recently bought up quite a few coins at 2.6m, the timing was perfect for an impulse purchase. This upgrade replaces our 73 att Red Craven, and pushes our range to "3363 ~ 5965".

    Thanks Babo!

    Entry #68 - Robos

We spent some time at Memory Lane 1 and 2, farming with our Bishop to finish the Eye of Time, Memory Monk, and Memory Monk Trainee card sets. It's a shame this area was adjusted, as I can only imagine how fantastic these maps used to be. Before heading back to Orbis, we finished our Dual Birk set... this is one of the mobs I'd recommend for others to skip as it was a hassle.

Over to Ludibrium, we finished the Tick and Tick-Tock sets. I'd originally found these maps to be very difficult to card hunt on. The variety of platforms can make it tricky to get a good rotation. You know what's a great way to circumvent this problem? 4 mages. Park one in each quadrant of the map, and these sets wrap up quick. Did the exact same thing with Robo and Master Robo, where four mages spread across the map seemed to be a pretty good solution.

Last stretch! Next up? Deep Ludi!

Entry #70 - Monster Book Ring

That... took a while. The multi-mages certainly helped, but I've only gained more respect for those that have invested the time and energy into creating a Tier 10 Monster Book Ring.

Thanks to PrecelPrecel's spreadsheet, and NimbusNimbus's guide. Ultimately, what I've come to realize is that there's quite enough mobs to finish the book. Knowing what I now know, I would have skipped any mob that was giving me difficulty. Maybe come back to them later, or maybe not. I didn't even touch the Shangai or China regions. There's also a ton of Temple of Time cards, and Boss cards that I haven't gotten to.

Now, I was fortunate to have a few mages at my disposal to help with the process. I know class-by-class, everyone will have a different experience. But, for those with multiple mages, and a Night Lord, here's my person difficulty rating for each card set:
