Hello everyone! I first started playing ML back in January for nostalgia and I have been hooked ever since. I played a ton more than I really should. I didn't know much back then but I learned a lot from reading what others have shared on this forum. I thought I could do the same by sharing my journey here. I hope it's at least entertaining to read.

I don't really have specific goals in mind for this journal, but I expect it to be mostly farming, gacha pulls, scrolling, and generally sharing what I do with my characters. My ultimate goal is to make a perfect weapon. I'm not in a rush to do so but want to be as efficient as I can.

My life is getting busier as I'm finishing up graduate school and preparing for an international move that is going to happen in a year or so. I will try to update whenever I can. Thanks for reading!

 

Farming - mages



My first character was a f/p mage. It was recommended by a kind bishop who helped me out by giving me some mesos when I was training at HHG. I followed the luk = level + 3 formula until I realized it is highly recommended to go all int. It took me a while to reset ~40 luk and start washing but it ended up working out in the end.

The turning point of my journey was the lunar event. I reached 120 right before the event and I farmed the crap out of the JQs. I think I got around 900 coins from the raffle pulls alone. It was a lot of repetitive work but it set me up nicely.

I've been mostly using this character for selling leech and self-leeching. I've been hp washing in the hopes that it can go bossing one day. It was capped at 162 for several months but I recently started leveling after I caught up with washing.



I recently joined the multi-maging train as a way of making mesos. I don’t see myself having a lot of time dedicated to selling leech moving forward, and I value having more flexibility with multi-maging. Not having to compete for the map and buyers is also nice.

After reading what others have shared on here and discord, I decided to make and self leech 2x bishop and 1x I/L. My plan is to start multi-maging at ulu1 with 3x bishops (+1 bishop that used to be my first HS mule) and 1x I/L with elemental amplification set at 3. After moving some gear around, I should be able to 1 hit the mobs at 132 after washing (lvl 30 ult + MW9). But, they still have ~40 days of voting left for aprs and expanding all the necessary slots. I plan to keep hp washing them in the hopes that they are useful one day.

I have one more bishop (used to be my second HS mule) I leveled recently mainly for better summer raffles. It needs a bit more NX than the other chars, but the plan is to switch out the I/L with this bishop so that I can farm with 4x bishop instead of 3x bish + 1 I/L. This means that more resources are going to be used for gearing up this char and I need to make another HS mule at some point however.

One limitation I have is that I currently play on a 2019 macbook pro. It significantly heats up when I have 3+ clients open, even though it has been fine up to 5 clients when leeching. My plan is to have 4 clients up for casting ults and sweep on my other macbook that I have had since 2013. It froze a couple times in the past so I will just have to try it out and see. I might have to invest in buying a PC at some point but it will likely happen after the move.

 

Bossing

Most of my earnings at ulu1 will be dedicated to buying/scrolling gears for my bossing chars. I am still very new to bossing as I dedicated most of my time playing with my f/p mage.



I currently have a lvl 169 paladin that has been my primary attacker. I haven’t done a good job of keeping up with content (thanks to ddos) but I hope that changes soon. I’ve been mainly doing daily rav/pap/chao and occasionally zak/krex/jc. I’ve yet to do CWK, HT, or NT.

I don’t plan on making big gear upgrades at the moment except I’ve been slowly buying dark battle roads for scrolling.

I've been leveling buccaneer, nightlord and marksman while I wait for the washing to be completed for my mages. I made the bucc to be a SI/TL mule, but I realized how useful they are in end game bossing. I plan to play more bucc when I’m done washing. NL was my MU mule so had accumulated some nx. MM is far away from being playable but I decided to level with my other chars while I was at it and for better event raffles.

NX needed to finish washing:

I also have a bishop that I plan to use for bossing. I've been slowly leveling it up by doing daily boss content with my paladin.

• Get a 5 attk MoN for my paladin

The last couple days for me had some ups and downs.

On Monday, I impulsively traded my 130 att 2h speargrave + 155 coins for a 9/4 yellow marker, thinking that I can potentially make a 17 att glove. My plan was to 70% the first 2 slots and finish with ws60s. I thought it would be a nice upgrade if things turned out well.



But.. here’s how it went (sorry for no screenshots, was very disappointed)

9/4 -> fail, fail, fail, pass -> 11 att glove

I was sad that the first three slots failed so I threw a css20, passed and made a 13 att glove, threw another css20 and boomed. It was probably smart for me to cut the loss by selling the glove but wanted to take a shot.

To ease my disappointment, I exchanged 280 summer event raffles that I saved up but didn’t get any yellow lines. I exchanged ~150 gachas that I got across my 9 chars from the anniversary and the summer event and also didn’t get much. I got ~300 coins from the raffles.

The next day I decided to cash in the gachas I had on my f/p (~375 commons and 92 rares) and I was very fortunate to get 3 cs (2 from common, 1 from rare) and 2 ws (both from rare). So I was saved by the gacha rng.

Anyways, today I spent more hours at petris. I self-leeched for ~4 hours and decided to log the mesos earned for the journal.

Equips didn’t drop as much today, but 10.1m / hr isn't as bad as I thought. I used a premium dish for HS and put my bishop in the cash shop for the last hour to slow down the leveling a bit.

This week’s update:



I spent more time at petris and all my mages are 132+ now, which means that I have enough sp to have max genesis/blizzard and mw9. I still need to finish hp washing so they still need some time (and doughmaker needs ~250k more nx than the other mages). This 2x voting event will definitely help! One thing I didn’t mention is that I still need to get genesis 30 on all four bishops. I was hoping to get some books during the anniversary and summer events, but it wasn’t really possible with the ddos attacks. They are a bit pricey now and I’m planning to wait it out until it goes down close to the pre-event prices. I’m hoping it takes fewer than 8 books to pass all four.

My paladin reached lvl 170(!) and all my attackers are now 140+. NL and MM are well over the potential 30k/5k mp goal, which is great. I’m not sure if it’s beneficial to have NL or MM to have 5k+ mp (I heard more the better for BMs), but I will read up on it more and decide to keep mp washing or not.

TLDR; It was interesting to log how much I earn from self-leeching at petris. I think this confirms that it’s really not worth looting the top and bottom platforms when selling leech unless you see gacha or equip drops.

With the limited sample size of ~14 hrs, I averaged (per hour):
- Meso looted (with MU): 4.7m
- NPC’ed equips and etcs (excluding scrolls and ores) - pot cost (element amp. at 30): 0.98 m

I will be taking a break from leeching for a while (I think) and focus on making mesos for future projects. I didn’t realize this until recently, but I’ve been self-leeching since July! I didn’t really mind it though because I made a lot of progress on my chars and earned some mesos by farming gachas.

For a change of pace, I thought of some things I could try while I wait for mages to be ready for ulu1:

• Do some of the money making quests for all my chars. I already started gathering the etcs.
• Try out multi-maging. I was a bit hesitant to start multi-maging at viks b/c of how popular it is, but I will give it a try since I’m not sure when I will be able to get gen30 on my bishops.
• Make a HS mule. I need to make it at some point so I might as well make it now. This means more leaching however.
• Bossing. The server seems to be more stable now so I feel safe to start bossing again.
  

 

This week, I did some of the quests from the money making quests for all my characters:



Gathering the etcs took some time, but I had fun doing them casually. I was able to finish some of the deep ludi cards in the process as well. I included the committee challenges to see if the quest is worth doing.



Lazy buffy marbles took the longest and collecting them was my least favorite. The dual ghost pirate etcs were collected following kiwiz's farming strategy (one bishop and one cleave). I logged ~70 mins of farming and it was great! I highly recommend people trying it out. Farming 5000 etcs took about 2 hours.

Overall, I’m happy with what I got from the quests. I feel like I got lucky with the Life’s Work and Away from Kampung quests. I don’t think the Committee Challenges is worth doing, considering the time you have to spend collecting the lazy buffy marbles.

I generally don’t sell the scrolls and use them because I like gambling. I will see what I will do with them.

Also, I started soloing Ephenia now that my f/p is not parked in Singapore. First time doing it was hectic and my bishops ended up dying because I couldn’t keep up with multiple clients. I got better with more experience and was able to finish the Ephenia questlines for all my mages.

 

This week:

I sold a 128 att claymore for 130 coins I scrolled quite a bit ago.


I started soloing scar to scroll scar helms for my attackers.


Fortunately, I was able to scroll a 36 dex helm for my bucc on my third run! With a 17 base dex, it passed 3x30% and 5x70% but failed the last two 60%. I was a bit disappointed but hey I can’t really complain.



My plan was to do daily scar runs until I get helms for the rest of my attackers but I decided to hold off because of time sake (averaging ~45 mins / run). I will continue when I can duo attack with my bucc for faster runs.



My paladin reached level 172 mostly from farming and doing daily bosses. I was able to get 50 soul shards the past week and attempted to scroll the ephenia ring. I mixed in dummy scrolling a red umbrella with 10%s and I was able to finish the ring with only 9 scrolls!

 

Spending some time at dual ghost pirates last week made me realize that this map works really well with my current multi-maging situation. My bishops have just enough tma (~1096) with mw9 + wizard elixir to 1 hit with genesis 13. This map only requires 3 mages + 1 cleave to cover the whole map, which is huge for me because it doesn’t require another machine to sweep (can only have max 4 clients on my current laptop). And I don’t see myself getting genesis 30 any time soon with the current prices.

I logged ~14 hours this week at DGPs and I’m averaging ~19m / hr, valuing at 1m per gacha. I’m happy with the earnings and so far multi-maging has been somewhat enjoyable. Being able to just log in and farm when I only have ~1-2 hours between meetings/chores is quite nice. I will be spending more time here in the foreseeable future.

My current plan is to use the earnings at DGPs to buy and scroll gear for my buccaneer. I’ve been slowly buying etcs to craft dragon slash claws and lvl 100 pirate shoes for scrolling. I am planning to craft ~80 dscs and scroll them all at once with the shoes.



Another thing I’ve been thinking about is buying perfect NT 2h swords or knuckles for a ws project. I should be able to afford to buy one every week, assuming that I can consistently farm for at least 10 hours / week. I think it will be doable, but with the end of year approaching I expect my IRL will be busier. Only time will tell.

No big update for last week other than mindlessly farming at DGPs. The addition of the halloween raffles to the drop pools has been a nice boost to the earnings (approx. >4m/hr assuming 30% pouch 1 pull rate, 2 coins per pouch 1, and 3 raffles / hr). The coin prices have gone down a bit, so I’ve been using my mesos to buy them as well as buying crafting equips and scrolls.



So far I gathered,

I’ve been consistently getting >12m/hr from the meso drops and npc’ed equips + etcs, which I think is great. This number could be a bit higher if I npc’ed black crystal and adamantium ores instead of saving them. You get summoning rocks from them as well but I haven’t been keeping track.

For this Halloween event, I was able to farm ~54 hours and get 184 raffles. I will post the raffle results when I get a chance this week.


I’ve been getting a lot of perfect / scrollable thief equips as well. I started saving perf-2 red pirate boots to see if I can land some shoe jump 10%s. I filled up my storage char’s entire equip slots, so I will have to figure out what to do with them.


I’m almost ready to craft 85 dragon slash claws. I have everything except I just need 25 king cents and ~30-40 more 30% scrolls. In hindsight, it might have been better to buy and scroll perf-1 or perf-2 knuckles from fm, but I will see how it goes. I should be able to craft and scroll by the end of this week or next week.

I turned in all my raffle tickets as well (+8 from fairy and rav etc farming), which resulted in 30 MP1 and 9 MP2. They opened to 105 coins and that comes about to be additional 105/54 ≈ 2 coins / hr farming at DGP during the event. I was able to make this earring (1x 30%, 4x 70%s) on my paladin, which means that my bucc can use the 12 dex shield earrings.


I attempted to finish the ephenia ring on my bucc. The first 10 scroll attempts went 1/10, which is more or less average. Dummy scrolling with 10% scrolls didn’t do any good this time and went 6/15 lol. My second attempt (8 scrolls) went 1/8.
Overall: 2/18. I will be attempting again every 4 scrolls.




I have everything ready to craft and scroll dragon slash claws. Certain individual(s) have been buying out the knuckler att. 30% scrolls so I haven’t been able to buy more scrolls recently . I will craft and scroll regardless at the end of this week. Opening gachas sometime this month as well!

 

Crafting and scrolling dragon slash claws



I decided to pull the trigger yesterday. My goal here was to make at least a 102 att knuckle. I spent about 3.47m crafting each one, valuing dragon scales and spirits at 50k and 10k, respectively. I spent a bit less than that since most of the crystal ores were farmed at DGPs and ulu2. The knuckle forging stimulators were from the days I spent at platoon chronos from a while back. I bought knuckle att 30% scrolls <1.3m throughout last month before the price increase.



I invested around 200 coins worth of items and I should more or less break even if I make a 102+ att knuckle looking at past sales on discord.

Here are the results:



Out of 85 crafts, 9 boomed from using the stimulator. However, I was very fortunate to get 12(!) max attack dscs and 32 that have 80+ att. After failing and booming a bunch of knuckles, I was able to make this:



I had one +3/4 that turned into the one above after fail, pass and a +3/3 that boomed unfortunately.

I’m tempted to finish it with the 30s, but it’s likely that I will finish with the 60s or leave as is. To see whether I would have boomed the knuckle had I continued with the 30s, I decided to toss some on a 79 att. Of course, 3 out of 4 scrolls pass



All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the results

 

Gachas and more scrolling (before the Christmas event)

Merry Christmas everyone! I wasn't able to update for a while. The day after I scrolled the knuckles, I attempted to scroll black duke barkin shoes with the shoe jump 30%s I got from the quests. My goal was to pass at least 3x30%s on one of them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to pass two in a row or pass 3 out of 5 slots. I was able to land a shoe jump 10% on one of the 4 slot shoes and managed to make 7 str / 6 dex shoes. I will be using this temporarily for now.



I used all my gachas that day as well. In total, I had 666 gacha tickets (565 commons and 101 rares).



Here's what I got, tracking only the "valuable" scrolls and items. I tried to bold the items that are worth some mesos but they might be hard to see.

I was only able to get 1 chaos scroll from them which is a little below average, but better than not getting any.


I decided to gamble by using the scrolls I had in my inventories. I scrolled some starlights I had from the gs1 days and I was able to make a 28 int starlight only using 9 OA int 30%s and 5 OA int 60%s. This is nice because 4 of my mages now have 28+ int overalls (in red, green and black!).



I was also able to make a 22 tma single earrings by passing a 10% on the first slot and using the earring int 30%s I got from gacha.


There were many failures as well, including

• Booming a BWG with a GFA 30%
• Booming a white raccoon mask with a eye int 30%s
• Booming 14 1 int gloves with GFMA 10%s
  
• Booming some stolen fences with shield ma 10%s
• Booming some neos tops/bottoms and pirate tops/bottoms with 70%s and 30%s

Booming the BWG probably saved me some mesos because I was going to use the cs on it if it had passed.


Some character updates. I attempted to finish the last slot of the ephenia ring and was fortunate enough to go 1/2. Overall it went 3/20, which comes out to be exactly 15%.



The price of gen30 books have gone down recently so I bought two books for 33 coins each. And I was very lucky to have both books pass on my bishops! I was very happy about this result because the mastery 30 books can be very dreadful.

 

Ulu 1 farming

Now that I have gen30 on two of my bishops, I thought it would be a good time to try out multi-maging at ulu1. Thanks to the event equips, all my mages (3 bishops and 1 I/L) can 1 hit at ulu1. The bishop with mw20 doesn’t have gen30 yet but have enough ma with gen15 and mw20 + wizard elixir.



I’m hoping to replace my I/L with a fourth bishop that used to be my second HS mule. He should have enough tma with the current set up but still needs to pass gen30.



I scrolled some avoid gear as well for sweeping.



With that, I was able to spend about 9 hours farming at ulu1 last week. It seems to be more profitable than DGP (about 3-4m / hr more minus the equip drops (e.g. red cravens and red pirate boots) and ~2 more commons / hr).




Note: I forgot to keep a starting number of power elixirs for the first two sessions. I can add other scrolls to the table but they are not worth too much. I included omega spears because I heard there is a niche for it?

My first session at ulu1 was a bit of a challenge. The mages get bounced around a lot and having to reposition them somewhat frequently was a bit annoying (especially the one on the slope where you need to position it just right to hit the mobs on the bottom platform). It took some time to get used to the rhythm.

I seem to get more gachas and mesos due to the sheer number of mobs. The equips drop less frequently than the DGPs but they are more valuable. I can't really expect to get a perfect craven every session so I consider it as a bonus.

Needing to set up another laptop for sweeping is not ideal but it forces me to multi-mage less so it’s maybe a good thing. I will be spending more time here to get a more accurate estimate of profit / hr. Happy holidays!

 

Hi everyone. I have many updates but I wasn't able to dedicate some time to write the journal. First off, it has now been over a year since I started playing ML! A lot of things were going on in my personal life before I started playing this game and it has been a good distraction for me. 2024 definitely flew by thanks to ML and the ML community. It’s been a long overdue, but I finally became a donor.



During the holidays, I bought a gaming laptop! It was on sale and my friends told me that it was good value. I don’t play any other games so it will most likely be purely dedicated to ML. I added more RAM to it to upgrade to 32gb.



The difference between my old macbook pro and this laptop is night and day. The clients load so fast and I can pretty much open as many clients as I can handle. I don’t have to worry about overheating anymore and I can use other apps while I’m playing, which is huge. Based on what people have suggested on discord, I’ve been using RivaTuner to limit frame rate and it has been working great. Only thing that bugs me is that the enter key and the numpad are right next to my arrow keys so I often press on them.

I did more farming at ulu1 as well since the last update. I didn’t get to spend as much time compared to the halloween event but I was able to farm more raffle tickets. I will use the raffles at the end of the week so that the event equips last a bit longer.





I finally got a perfect craven (5 luk though) after spending ~22 hours farming. I started saving 49 att cravens because they seem to sell for a decent amount. I started saving perfect blood daggers as well.

I can now cast and sweep on a single laptop and it’s been so smooth. I’m glad I made this purchase.
