Welcome to the general Patch notes for the Lunar and Valentines Event 2024 patch!

This post will contain a comprehensive list of fixes, changes and new implementations for the server side of things. Because this patch includes less client (v1.23) changes, they will be included here.

As this is a smaller event patch, that will be followed by a bigger content one, there will be no Balance notes this time.

    General Changes
    • The Lunar and Valentines Event is now active! Click here for details.
      • The Freemarket Entrance received a seasonal makeover!
    • Various data for the upcoming Challenges tiers 3 and 4 has been included.
      • While not yet accessible, the optional challenges for tier 3 are all functional.
        • This early inclusion allows us to verify any potential load increase pre-release.
      • Initial questline data has been imported.
      • A new custom map has been imported. It can be found (but not yet accessed) somewhere in the area where tier 3 will take place.
      • Some item crafting NPCs have been recoded to accommodate for challenge needs.
    • The !challenges command has been partially reworked:
      • Players can now navigate back and forth between menus, instead of needing to close and reopen.
      • Mandatory class challenge will now show as "not started" upon beginning a new tier, for improved clarity.
        • Before, the dialog would list the previously-completed one until the player spoke with the job instructor again.
    • The following maps now display [loot] notification for Prestigious Coins:
      • Singapore - The Engine Room (Capt. Latanica)
      • Zipangu - The Nightmarish Last Days (The Boss)
    • The shine effects for 250NX card and for regular Gachapon ticket have been changed, to hopefully look different and more distinguishable.
    • [client] The client initial loading process has been slightly revamped, and should now be a little faster than before.
    • [client] Our previous early-testing implementation of the monster teleport skill has been removed.
      • In its place, a fully functional version has been added. Monsters that use teleport skills will now be supported.
    • [client] Support for a new custom skill has been added.
      • This skill is not yet accessible, and will be part of one of the future challenges.
More backend features have been implemented, some of which are already in use, while some others will shine during challenge releases. Some notable examples:
    • A system to use the quest kill counter for non-monster related counters has been introduced.
      • While v62 originally does not support quest menu text formatter symbols (for the more curious among us, an example is "#j") that allow tracking of special data, such as the amount of completed JQs, or the number of monsters killed around your level, we have implemented a simplified version of it.
      • In the future, its support may become more polished.
    • Scrolls now support inventory space checking before usage, in case a specific item gain is required as a result of the scrolling.
      • This means that, if we'll want the player to gain an item after a scroll has been used, we're now able to do so. What uses can this have? Who knows...
    • Better support for stateless quest info data management via script has been added.
      • This likely makes little to no sense to most players, but it is a positive thing that needed to happen.
      • The less JavaScript shenanigans, the better.

    Bugfixes
    General:
    • Green eye color of Winter Blush Face and Clear Day Face has been fixed.
    • Female version of Winter Blush Face no longer crashes the game when using the Queasy emote.
    • Weddings attendance HP Challenge now counts right after the photoshoot timer runs out, which should fix an issue where the counter sometimes would not trigger.
    • In the dialog for The Test of Skill (class challenge tier 2), Kyrin now correctly states that the player needs to hit 250 mobs with Homing Beacon, instead of 500.
      • The quest requirement is unchanged.
    Items:
    • Round Cat-Eared Glasses and Round Rabbit-Eared Glasses now appear on the correct z layer.
    • "Spore Card" is now correctly called "Shroom Card".
    • Bible of the Corrupt description has had Riche's name fixed.
    • Attempting to scroll any ring that is not an 8-Blessing Ring, with a Blessing Charm, with the Legendary Spirit skill, will no longer lock the scrolling window.
    • Love Ticket (Valentine's quest drop) description has been updated to a more generic "A heartfelt message shared by two lovers".
    • "Transparent Label Ring" name has been corrected (from "Tranparent").
    Skills:
    • [Magician] Mana Reflection: the reflected damage is now correctly calculated at all levels.
      • An occasional double damage line will still display. This is only a visual bug, that will be fixed at a later time.
    Maps:
    • Reactor notifications about miniboss Riche's status alteration no longer call him "Richie".
    Mobs:
    • Ephenia's teleport skill has been rewritten as per the final teleport implementation.
    Npcs:
    • Rydole (weapon crafter in Ludibrium) no longer refers to Crossbow weapons as "Bowman" weapons.
    • Duru in Ellin Forest now has the Storage Keeper tag under his name.
    Quests:
    • "Make Your Style!" (Islander style randomizer quest): the quest will no longer appear in the Maple Island available tab if a beginner leaves the island.
