Update General Patch Notes: Summer 2024

Welcome to the general Patch notes for the Summer 2024 second patch!

This patch is a simple Event patch, with some bug fixes and small content improvements; as such, there will not be a Balance Notes post, nor a Client Update post.
The client is still updated to version v1.26, but no user-related updates are included.


General Changes

• The Summer Event is now active! Click here for details.
  • The Freemarket Entrance received a seasonal makeover!
  • While the event is similar to last year's, a few changes have been made based on the comments received in last year's feedback thread.
    Notably:
    • Farming no longer drops Ice Boxes that have a chance to contain Bait - mobs drop Bait directly.
    • Activities no longer award Bait Points that need to be converted into Bait. Instead, they award Bait directly, and Bait Points no longer exist.
    • Boss PQ weekly cap is no longer based on entries. Instead, there is a 1000 bait cap per week, from it.
    • The four fishes, the four special fishes and the two shovel/pot items have been condensed into one fish, one special fish and one pot item.
      • All four fishing maps have the same item rewards.
      • The quest requirements have been updated accordingly.
    • An exchange that allows players to directly trade Bait, skipping the fishing part, has been implemented.
      • The point conversion is worse than what the player would obtain by fishing.
    • Islanders can now participate also in Boss PQ, the Raffle, and Roel's Jump Quest (albeit in a separate version of Hinamatsuri).

• A lot of structural work on the code backend has been made.
  • This is not something that will have a direct impact on the player experience, but it will allow us to make major codebase updates in future patches.

Changes and Bugfixes

General:

• Obtaining a White Scroll from the Crimsonwood Keep exchange will now display a global prize announcement, and will send a note to the player in case it's their first ever legendary item.
• Obtaining a White Scroll or a Chaos Scroll from the quest "Deciphering the Scroll of Secrets" will now display a global prize announcement, and will send a note to the player in case it's their first ever legendary item.

Items:

• "Fire Boar Card": item name and descriptions have been fixed (from "Fireboar").

 

Time to explain this for the 7th time today: Anti virus nowadays flag anything not digital signed when its fresh, including installers. the ml at the end of the detection stands for machine learning. After a few days the detection disappears.
