Do you still need to wash for NL if there’s HP quest available now ? Or can I do those quests instead of HP washing for end game content

For the most part, the HP Challenges are a great alternative. There's certain end-game content where you'll still need Hyper Body, but especially as a first attacker or for those without the NX, the challenges are a great alternative.

“Just have fun, play the game, and ask questions... Your "first playthrough" is about learning... information is insanely valuable in this game, that's why there's so many f****n guides... For your first attacker, don’t really worry too much about washing or long term viability.... by the time you get to the point where you need more hp than the challenges give, you'll have a good bank of nx if you're voting on a second account.. make whatever you want right now... later on when you have more nx you can "properly" make your dream character...” - An IRL Rat

As of July 2024, the MapleLegends team continuing to work on implementing an alternative to HP Washing.

"These challenges will introduce a viable alternative to washing, especially useful for those who are on their first character, and don’t have / want to, spend the time, effort, and NX to wash. They will allow characters to complete specific quests to gain additional HP, allowing any character to participate in almost every boss in the game." - Getting Started

The challenges system is the recommended path if this is your first character. However, it's possible to reach a much, much higher HP with washing as seen above.

im a pretty new player that doesn’t plan on quitting anytime soon. I do want to access end game content but as i cannot afford int gear or millions of NX , is it still possible to access that content so long as i do the hp quests and have HB ?

For the most part... yes. 95% of the content you'll run, you'll be fine. The only tricky part is there's some end-end-game content like 6-man Horntail (for example), that you're not always guaranteed to have access to Hyper Body.

The best thing you can do now?

At this point in time, just make sure you have an extra account or two (or five) that you're voting on, and and put it in the back of your mind that at a later point in time, once you have the knowledge, funding and vote cash (NX), you can make your perfect atttacker should you get deep into end-game.
