Midway's Journey

I've spent the past 2 years mostly beating on mobs with sticks and stones to eke out a humble living. Now that my village of miscellaneous scuffed characters is reaching a local peak in productivity, the time has finally come for me to join the maple elites as a sophisticated person of range with a sweet yacht. Introducing my magnum opus - Midway: The 570 INT deadweight gearless Corsair. In the oncoming months, I will document Midway's transformation from worthless and maidenless to professional boss whiter, and the convoluted steps I take along the way.

Years of repeated head trauma have hindered my ability to read, so playing high INT Mages is not a viable career for me. I will melee my way to ~12k p.coins via bossing and walking around hitting stuff, among other low brow behaviors. This journey will be hard and slow, so I'm creating this journal to not lose sight of my ninja way.

Spoiler: Current Best Money Making Methods

These are my highest income:hr farming methods, but not necessarily my favorite

• PB. Despite how dry PB can be, the average income is unparalleled. Maybe I'm just high-rolling though
• 3-man CWK. Conservative estimate is ~25mil/hr revenue (hard to place a number on untradeable stuff), higher if there are MoN buyers. This is the absolute best content in the game, I would do it every day if I could. Maybe 2-man will be on the table in the future, but I would need a 2nd PC.
  
• Solo Zakum. Can bring in ~30mil/hr revenue but pot costs, appo costs, and mental tax is astronomical for my chars, it also takes ~45 mins. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that it drops pouch 3 50% of the time.
  
• Solo/Duo Core Blaze - ~15-30mil/hr depending on clear speed just based on Pouch 3 rates. Can be much higher if something nice drops, but that's pretty rare.
• Solo JC - In theory brings in 20-25mil/hr but then I have to drag all my characters up to 7F just for 20 minutes of bossing. I prefer duo just so someone can suffer with me and also door me

Spoiler: In-Development Money Making Methods

• Solo Scarga Service. I've been too lazy to advertise, and it's hard to compete against the Uncle
• Solo 7F. This is a forgotten art, I haven't been able to efficiently clear 7F ever since my accuracy was reduced to 160 on my Hero + DK. At its peak it was making ~14mil/hr in mesos/scrolls/eq, but it had value in leeching all my high level chars

Once again PB splits are hard carrying the hourly income. At this rate it'll take me just about 2 years to acquire 12k coins

I've not yet started charging for Scarga service, it's been mostly charity runs so far. Eventually I expect more profit, although once the bonus pouch rate from the event goes away maybe my income will actually go down

I'm also not sure if I can continue farming CB solo so profitably since idk if it's very kosher to the ToS to leave my SI in the boss map as from time to time the Mavericks will try to focus him in barrel, so I will be using apples to make up the DPM difference, at least until my Pally reaches ~170 and I start taking out INT

I got a bit lazy with stat tracking this time, partially because I'm in winter break mode, partially because I've mixed up my boss split strats

• 1x 6-man Auf: -4 coins
• 2x Duo Scarga: +5 coins

• 2x Pink Bean: probably ~120 coins (2 MW30s + misc. stuff). I'm too lazy to read the spreadsheet but my PB bank is pretty thicc at this point

Total Profit 198 coins over approx. 23 hrs of grinding, ~27.55mil/hr (coins are down to 3.2mil )
PB hourly profit remains colossal. I hope drops remain good but at this point even a huge dry streak wouldn't bring it down
Solo CB was pretty sad times, I scuffed one of the runs by attempting to bring SI then protecting the Barrel inside the map, but the Mavericks were having none of it and I had to apple 3x to make up for wasted time and the cleave spiraling out of control. Then it didn't drop anything both runs which was pretty demotivating
CWK is just as reliable as ever

Other events:

I gained access to this beauty out of a mutually beneficial exchange (totally not gear sharing), my plan is to get a 1h setup for both my Hero+Pally so I can boss without SI because muling my bucc is a huge PITA. Because I don't want to be arsed with DEX builds, I'm only looking for RK and TL Executioners, of which I've boomed countless.
Sadly 115RK+15w.att shield doesn't beat out my 145 Claymore even without SI, but it's close enough that when I appo, the RK should beat SI-less claymore which might not actually be enough dmg but I haven't tried it yet



Hawthorn hits 166; I've lowered her INT to 100, she'll end up 30k/8k which is a pretty awkward amount of MP because Mana Bull still recovers less than 1:1 meso to MP, but I'm too lazy to go further. I'll remove more INT at lv.170 which feels pretty distant. I don't enjoy 7Fing on Pally so she really only gains exp from CB or leech


Judgement count has risen to 2; Based on kiwiz calculation I only need 35.04 more, acquiring them might prove difficult because I'm sure many players along with the 3 other Corsairs in production on ML have already noticed the Judgement market has risen considerably



Midway finally does something; I've actually been card hunting verrry slowly for months at this point but now she's at T6 Ring with a sizeable gach pool. I'll open them once I reach T10, Schrodinger's Chaos Scroll keeps me motivated to hunt

 

Hmmm yeah I thought about this too, maybe I'll just get lucky and hit a 3x30 early into the mass scrolling strat

Is there any merit to cycle scrolling then? I guess in theory you could make a bunch of +2s, hit a +3 early on, and get to resell all your +2 perfects, whereas if you went for 3x30 immediately on each gun, every failed gun would either have missing slots or be dust. There's also the mental bonus where I feel like I'm making big progress just by accumulating clean guns

 

Maybe I should be buying fewer Judgements

 

It's 2024 and we getting back into the grind after taking it easy for the winter

New year, new accounting - AKA I'm too lazy to figure out 6 weeks of terrible Google Sheets logging. I'm eyeballing it right now and it looks to be ~250c gained over ~35 hrs of gameplay. Major points were ~100c from 4 PB's (and -15c from a run that I overslept on lel), another 50c from 4x auf helm svc, every other coin was attained arduously with great effort. Perhaps a reverse highlight is 2 coins from 12x JC solos, that stingy mother trucker

But all these numbers are behind us, because we've hit a new milestone - I am now 250c in debt



A +3 Judgement fell out of the sky into the Free Market. For the low low price of about 3x what I've made total in this journal (1.5k coin) I was able to snag this WS project. Where did the other 1000c come from??? There's always money for guns
