Hello everyone!! I am pretty new to maplelegends, I have not ever washed a character before. I'm thinking of maining a bucc because I think that job is just so cool :woot: However, I am quite intimidated by the thought of washing as well as the funding needed.

I would assume a bucc needs mainly STR for dmg, DEX for acc, and now I have to add in INT into the picture for hp washing, it is quite overwhelming and I'm just wondering if you guys have any tips!! How should i allocate my AP at the start? Should i pump my base int up, but won't my damage be very compromised?

I'm really not good at understanding hp washing :( Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Get about 50 INT to start, let quests carry you to level 20 (by which point you'll have the stats to do decent damage), then when you feel your damage is doing well (probably around level 30-40), start pumping some more INT again. Buccs don't need much in terms of HP washing so you can cap your INT at about 100 and do pretty well; I personally played a bucc with 150 base INT and felt I was doing fine after level 50 or so.

The alternative plan would be to get to 100 or so INT straight away, and make a mage concurrently. Play them with two clients, use the mage to do quests for your buccs to level 20, and then have your mage carry your pirate through KPQs. By level 30 your brawler should do decently well for themselves and you can ditch your mage then.

Bucc is perhaps the most difficult class to calculate the washes of. The reason is because they benefit A LOT of HP from Fresh AP (36~40) while they get only 18 from Stale AP. Basically your goal is to accumulate as much MP as you can through high base INT + equips at the lower levels so you can wash it out at the later levels and pump a lot of FRESH AP into your HP (rather than stale).

Before you start washing I'd suggest you figure how much HP you actually want in the first place.
You can see the thresholds here:

My suggestion for a Buccaneer would be at least 15,000 HP. But if you feel like this is too high for you (even though I still think you should consider it), you can also go 13,000.

    How HP washing works:
HP washing is an exploit that allows you to increase your base HP at the cost of MP. All jobs have a minimum MP stat, any MP above that minimum can be washed. How does this work? Because HP and MP share the same AP slot you can increase one of them and subtract from the other, in this case, add HP and remove MP.

    Requirements to wash:
To do a wash you need your MP to be at least 1 above the minimum MP (ML discord has a bot that tells you how many washes you have available). Very important to use your base MP and not the MP with equips, the base MP appears on your character stats if you log in to the main page of ML (in brackets).
Brawler has a skill that increases your HP gains when you level up and when you use fresh AP, so always use fresh AP while washing a Buccaneer, also max that skill before you wash (is the first 2nd job skill you max)

The steps to HP wash are:
    1-Add HP
2-Use an AP Reset to lower your MP and add to another stat (STR or DEX)

    MP washing:
Not a must I think but is good to know about ti since you can increase the amount of MP of your char to wash even more. To MP wash you need to have at least 30 base INT, the steps to MP wash are: 1-Add MP, 2-Lower MP, and add to another stat. The amount of MP gained will be higher than the MP you lose, this can only be done with fresh AP so plan ahead since you also need fresh AP for HP washing.

    Math stuff:
Extra MP gains on level up: INT/10 use equips to bump up your INT, equip then before you level up.
Min MP formula for pirates: 18xLevel+111
    MP loss upon washing: -16
    HP gains per wash: 36~40
MP gains per MP wash: (Base INT-20)/10 Ignore decimals

    Goals to achieve:
14K- Tank all NT bosses except Nameless magic attack.
15K - Tank the side heads and preheads of HT without HB (not buffed)
18K+ - Tank Pink Bean magic damage
18.75 K - Exact amount of HP needed to have cap HP with HB
18.9K - Tank Nameless magic attack (NT boss)
19k - Tank the middle head of HT without HB (you should never touch this head tho)
24.1K - Tank PB touch damage
30K- Cap HP (a bit a pain to get)

    My suggestion:
Depends on your goal but if you want to play all the content of the game I would go for the cap HP with HB, is not that hard to get and it really helps especially if you want to Pink Bean, I don't know if you need to MP wash yo get that HP (Needs some calculations) but try to get that around lv 190. If you want to be more independent and you really like doing NT get yourself 19K base because Nameless could hit you with the magic attack if you lower your guard. Now if you want to super independent 25K+ would allow you to do well at PB without HB and if you die on the body you don't need to bother the rest of the team and make them move PB away.
I have cap HP and it was a slow grind (good thing I had an op event on my disposal) but cap HP Bucc is mostly if you really love the class and you want to be as tankier as you can, the MP washing I did was pretty heavy: I only added INT until I had 230 bases INT, MP washed from lv30 to 88 and the rest was HP washing.

Extra HP items you can wear:
There are some equips that increase your HP that you will wear anyways so that will help you increase your HP:
-Tier 10 Monster Book Ring +1000HP
    -Mark of Naricain +300HP
    -Ellin Ring +100HP
-Event Rings: depends on the event but they give easily 100HP or more each.

I don't recommend scrolling pet equip for HP unless you really need it, I like more having jump and speed to climb better on HT.

That was a long reply o.o If I got something wrong let me know, good luck with your Bucc, the most fun class in the game by far.
