[Guide] Ephenia's Ring & Questline

so I was already building half of the guide for guildies so might as well convert it to a full one. I'll also be updating this guide with new info from time to time when I receive them.

Why should I do this questline?
=========================

• An upgrade of Ellin Saviour's Ring with better stats (and it can be further upgraded with unique scroll)
  
  Spoiler: Ephenia Ring

  
• New card sets (5 total, including 2 sets of boss cards)
• For the story cause its good

Reminder that this ring is only equip-able at lvl105 and above.
The questline will be available for you to do but it is NOT recommended to complete it prior to the required level.
Doing so will have you losing the Ellin ring and unable to equip the Ephenia's ring.

Spoiler: What if I wish to start the quest earlier?

• You can still progress with it but you should not talk to Athena Pierce after killing Ephenia.

Tbh the questline is written well enough for you to do this without a full guide but i know some of you prefer to speedrun through quests without reading (or due to language proficiency).

Hence I've written this guide with the following breakdown:

1. Tips & Guides (contains guides that may be useful to prep yourself for different stages of the questline, also leaving room for you to explore the questline on your own)

Spoiler: Tips & Guides

• Early quest involves back and forth x2 using the ludi elevator. The ludi lift opens for 1min before it departs. Time your movement well while reaching the respective npcs so that you can catch the same lift back and fro (if you wish to save time)
• Location of new npc and mobs:

• The new mobs are around lvl100 range but they're more tank & painful (dmg up to 2k) for its level range, do bring high dmg character to farm and also prepare your mules well
• Keep all the etc drops from the new mobs, including the etc from Chao.
• To summon Ephenia (boss) u need an item called the Fairy Heart , obtainable from Athena Pierce. You will obtain 1 Heart per exchange, using EITHER ONE of the exchange requirement:

  (basically Chao's tusk helps to reduce the etc required by half)
• Both bosses are only accessible twice per day

2. Questline guide (speedrun edition)

The Tips & Guide section is still useful here. Do refer to it prior/while you progress though the questline.

[Section 1]

Spoiler: Unlocking Ellin Forest portal

• Start by clicking on the lightbulb on your character, which suggests you to find Wiz the Librarian
• After talking to Wiz, go to Time Control Room (portal between Ludi and Ellin forest) and a new npc called Karen be like "you shall not pass"
• The following quests are basically talk to Wiz -> Karen again to unlock the portal to Ellin forest.

[Section 2]

Spoiler: Chao questline

• Talk to Yuris -> Athena Pierce -> Perzen -> Destonen
• You will need to hunt 100 Primitive Boar, 100 Violent Primitive Boar & a Chao
• TIPS: Collect at least 80 Tougher Leather from Violent Primitive boar, you will need this later for Fairy Heart exchange

[Fighting Chao]

• Simply enter the left portal of the Boulder Mountain Cave.
• (Refer to the Boss Guide below to prep for fighting Chao)

[Section 3]

Spoiler: Ephenia questline

• After completing the quest from Destonen, talk to him again -> Ellin -> Athena Pierce
• You will need to hunt 100 Ancient Fairies & Shining Fairies
• TIPS: Collect at least 80 etcs each from both fairies, you will need this right after
  
• After hunting, talk to Athena Pierce -> Perzen, and its time to kill the Fairy Queen
• Don't leave the town yet, this is the time to exchange for the Fairy Heart. Check the Tips & Guides section on how to obtain it.
• After defeating Ephenia, talk to Athena Pierce
• You should now have the Ephenia's Ring

[Fighting Ephenia]

• Once you obtain the Fairy Heart , continue down the Fairy Forest until u reach Fairy Forest 2. Enter the portal on the right whenever ready.
• Each channel only allows 1 entry at a time.
• (Refer to the Boss Guide below to prep for fighting Ephenia)

[Optional] (unless u want some closure and also 10 fames)

Spoiler: Completing the questline

• Continue by talking to Athena Pierce -> Destonen -> Athena Pierce -> Wiz
• After this you can hand Kyrin the letter u obtained from Destonen

3. Boss guide

Spoiler: Boss Guide

[1st Boss] Chao

• Entry: Solo or party, twice per day
• 10mins timer
• Flat land map, boss is pinnable, but it summon mobs (violent primitive boars)
• Doesn't inflict statuses
• Damage up to 2.7k
  
• Drops a Chao Tusk (useful for Fairy Heart exchange)

Spoiler: Tips

• Its like an easier version of Ravana
• Archer can solo with puppet trick (place puppet far behind you while you pin the boss)
• For those who bring mules, ensure they could at least tank the Violent Primitive Boars (up to 2k dmg) in case some went lose.

[2nd & final boss] Ephenia

(Stats: https://maplelegends.com/lib/monster?id=5250007)

• Entry: Solo or party, twice per day
  
• Summoned by dropping a Fairy Heart at the center of map (where the egg is)
• 15mins timer
• Flat land map, boss teleports around & summons fairies (no safe spot)
• Inflicts seduce & ranged stun (as far as archer's max range)
• Damage up to 2.7k
• VERY HIGH DEF towards neutral damage (reduces your damage up to 50%)
  • Paladins may experience damage reduction up to 75% with elemental attacks (need confirmation)
• Drops Soul Shard(s) that can either be used
  • as a buff potion if consumed
  • to upgrade Ephenia's Ring (refer to Ring Upgrade guide below for more)
    

Spoiler: Tips

• The stuns are actually pretty annoying and slows you down a lot. Try avoiding it by either
  • tanking damage prior (tough damage from boss or the butterfly orbs right before the stun)
  • having Holy Shield buff in the party
  • getting out of the stun range before its casted (not easy).
• Make sure your mules could at least tank damage up to 2.7k.
  • Rush and Corkscrew may help to keep the boss away for awhile, but not reliable because it can teleport and also seduce.
• Solo is only recommended for high dpm characters who could avoid stuns
• Ephenia is not the only one who could play the teleporting game

• DO NOT double click on the Soul Shard if you dont intend to use it as a buff. To use it for ring upgrade please refer to the guide below.

4. Upgrading Ephenia's Ring

• 3 upgrade slots
• Upgrade is done by using a Soul Crystal, with the following exchange requirement:
  
• The Soul Crystal is basically a scroll with 15% passing rate. Failing the scroll WONT consume the upgrade slot.
• Each successful upgrade will give additional
  • 50HP
  • 50MP
  • 3 Avoidability
  • 3 Accuracy
