As a fellow card collector and completionist, I think it's important to keep a broader perspective on these new additions. First of all, as completionists, we should be excited about new cards being added and having more goals to pursue. Isn't that part of the thrill of collecting?

MapleLegends has consistently introduced new cards across various mobs over the years. This is not a new phenomenon. Many of these cards have been locked behind quests or specific content, such as the Temple of Time monster cards, Neo Tokyo, Black Sheep, and the newly added Ellin Forest 2. This integration adds a layer of challenge and excitement to the game, making our collections even more meaningful.

The quests, including the HP challenges, are accessible to all players. New content will continue to be introduced, and it makes sense for monster cards to be part of this evolving landscape. This diversity in how cards are obtained adds depth to the game and keeps it engaging.

It seems like the root of your complaint is that these cards don't align with your current preferences or gameplay style. Instead of seeing this as an obstacle, why not view it as an opportunity to engage with new content and expand your experience in the game? The addition of cards in different ways, such as through questlines, ensures that not all new cards are locked behind exceptionally challenging bosses like Pink Bean and Auf Haven, making them more accessible to a broader range of players.

Furthermore, these challenges come with other unique rewards that are exclusive to the questline. Should those also be dismissed simply because they require effort to obtain?

In summary, the evolving nature of the game is what keeps it fresh and exciting. Embrace the challenge, and work for your prestigious leaderboard spot.

 

I had little interest in the snack bar questline, gpqs, black sheep questline, etc for the explicit purpose of getting cards. Can we remove those too? More cards will obviously either make t10 a bit easier at best or be ignored at worst by all but those aiming to complete the entire book.

In completing the book, obtaining challenge locked cards are still easier than dealing with pb politics or getting on an auf run for cards. Those 2 bosses alone will gate many more otherwise willing players from completion than challenges.

 

Completing the monster book takes alot of time and dedication, But at the end of the day it is still something that is a 100% player choice to do. I think if the players goal is to reach top ranks or even just complete the book itself, they should have to do whatever baggage that comes with it.

 

I look at these cards the same as any other locked content cards (IE: NT cards, ToT cards, etc). Just expend the effort to be able to acquire them.

 

We all know that the book rankings shakeup will be fully decided by whoever gets luckiest in getting chao/ephenia to drops cards first. And then more sets will be released and we'll go through it all over again

Isnt the challenges questline avaliable to every players inclusing the traditionnal washers ?
While you can partaque into the quest, you are not required to partaque in the HP/MP boost it offer; and lock you out of trad washing.

 

i agree with the statement. its too harsh to clear hp challenge 1,2 to farm tier3 exclusive monsters

 

It's unfair for my washed chars not able to collect these 2 sets !

 

You can literally do the quests without accepting the the HP/MP from the challenge. It's just new questlines.

On topic I was surprised to see the new cards locked behind such a long questline which is unprecedented so I understand the frustration from people that care for completing the monster book but less so for quests.

 

Beginners cant do these sets right now because they can't do HP challenges :[
