The approach is to solve for cape price (with slots) with backward induction and done with matlab (actually Octave bc it's the freeware for poor people like myself). s/o to akashskyakashsky for making the first version on visual studio.

    Code:
    ^____^

o ya gotta change the cape curve if prices of 0 slot capes change but otherwise these suffice for the current market.

i did a mathematical simulation and it suggests that
    1) with current cape prices and enough capital or resources, scrolling capes is highly profitable, the higher the capital, the more margins you can achieve.
    2) buying capes at current prices means that you are fully, i.e. 100%, compensating for the risk which cape scrollers undertake, i.e. they get to have another at more capes without any loss.
    3) the breakeven point for scrollers is when they achieve >16wa at the rate of more than 1/100 CSes, assuming all capes below 17wa are sold at current prices.

While it may be profitable mathematically, there is no guaranteed buyers. There is only so many players who can afford those prices or are looking to buy them.

High attack cape upgrade comes after most of other upgrades, which is already a big challenge for most of the players.

Making and selling 3 low-mid tier items is much easier than 1 mid-high tier item due to the huge difference in buyer group pool, and still yields roughly the same amount of profit with lesser risks and investment.

My words might not hold water as I have no actual data to back those claims, nor do I have the network to verify them. They are mainly from what I’ve perceived.

cape price curve can always be edited to reflect lower prices or changing cost of inputs. the deluge in capes was more recent and 10-17 capes are pretty liquid
