So I am trying to play MapleLegends on Windows 10. My laptop belongs to my organization, but they allow us to download/play video games on them at home.

Essentially, my problem is the same as many of the other posts: The .exe files are being flagged as viruses, and I cannot figure out how to deal with it.

The only solution that I have seen is to add exceptions to Windows Defender (the only antivirus installed on this computer), but due to my organizational settings, I am unable to add these exceptions; is there any other way that I can play the game/get my computer to not treat it as a virus?

    Thank you in advance.

I'm sorry it sucks, but not that I can find. The only alternative I can think of would be to put your ML folder in a place where Defender doesn't scan in the first place, but IDK if a place like that exists on ones hard drive. So, try putting ML on a flash drive?

Thanks for the great ideas. Unfortunately, I cannot disable Windows Defender (I even tried editing Local Group Policies, still didn't work), and my computer still treats it as a virus when trying to run it from a flash drive. If anyone else has any ideas, I'd love to hear them, but so far, nothing has worked.

When I am home which is tomorrow I can try give you a special client that hopefully doesn't trigger defender.

Just an FYI from IT personnel,

Don't try to disable defender or somehow alter the computer's security settings. If you get found out, you will get reprimanded. I love maple but I wouldn't wanna risk my job over it.

Plus, it will be worse if you actually do get attacked and they find out your defender is turned off or a folder is added to an exception.

Hopefully Kimmy's solution works, since it doesn't change anything on your computer.

Im having the same problem. its really frustrating.

I have the MapleLegendsFeb022019 Application downloaded and put into the "exception".

But every time I try install it Virus and Threat Protection kicks and just deletes the desktop icon and related contents.

I refuse to play after the bigbang. Im an old school mapler and its going to stay that way.

Sorry for the late reply. I hope it's working for you now but if you are making an exception, I'll suggest applying that exception to the entire ML folder to prevent any of those .exe files being detected as virus.
