    I realize that there are many different ways to play MapleLegends and thus far, I noticed that there are no incentives for people to finish quests (Other than quick low level-ups and some rare scrolls).

    I was thinking maybe to reward players who focus on attempting to finish quests they should be rewarded similar to the people who work to hunt monster cards.

    Perhaps 0-200 is a level 0 ring
    200-400 Level 1 ring?
    Etc until level 10 similar to the monster card ring?
    This was just a rough idea that I had and not very detailed but a suggestion regardless.

    A quest ring sounds great! Some quests are really an absolute waste of time and energy (I'm looking at you, Rowen of the Cursed Dolls) so it'll be nice to have a tangible reward, even if it's just a very minor perk.

    It seems that the vast majority of legends is in favor of a quest ring, but theres a small minority against it. Also it doesn't seem to be high on staff priority (as probably fixing lag / developing event is #1 right now).

    I think it would be cool to have quest ring included with pink bean release, and have it give 1k hp at max tier.

    One other idea we were theorizing was that it could give a large amount of DEF/MDEF, that way classes who already hit maximum HP (DKs basically, as well heavy washing or HBed warriors) could still get some benefits out of questing, and the ring would still increase survivability similarly to +HP.

    Not to mention extra DEF/MDEF has the potential to effectively lower your pot costs, which would be a nice and unique reward for questing. SlimeSmile

    I love the idea of a huge defence boost on a ring slot. +1 From me (if it ever gets implemented kekw)

    It takes about 2 defense to lower damage by 1, so to have the same effect as 1k hp, the ring would basically have to have 2k magic defense, which seems a bit overkill.

    However, I definitely support a high magic defense ring over just hP. The benefits you cited makes it worthwhile for everyone.

    Having more defense sure does help with damage mitigation and puts less pressure for washing since we could absorb more damage.
    It also gives more variety to the gameplay as well if your maps are all taken from lychees

    I support the idea of a high DEF ring, but as we are on that topic, does anyone know the exact mob damage/DEF formula that is being used in legends? I am not sure it's the same formula as in GMS (as that formula is not widely known). I have done some testing of it and it is a fairly complicated formula that takes into account the mob level and player level and is not linear in DEF (the 2 def = -1 damage is a gross simplification) and I couldn't find a simple fit to the data I took.

    It is likely whatever the formula that OdinMS used as that was the basis for the legends source.

    Knowing the formula is important as the nonlinear DEF scaling could be OP or useless once you are at 2k DEF/MDEF

    Edit: 1999 was the limit for DEF/MDEF in GMS, not sure if that's the same here (like how 999 was the limit for base stats in GMS)

    Nostalgic GMS would require the addition of the Medal system. The Quest Specialist Medal was a thing and I'm in favor of bringing that out. I still hold that the Ring slots are full. If we have more rings, they need to be level 100+ rings that antiquate the Ellin Ring. Either that, or make the Wedding Ring something that can be worn over one of the Ring slots like a CS item, thereby freeing up a ring slot. There's also the possibility that the Questing reward need not necessarily be a ring, it could be an Eye Accessory or Face Accessory.

    While true, there's also the Zombie Army Ring in October. It's also possible for other Event rings to be introduced throughout the year, so we'd want to have at least one ring slot open for events at all times.

    I've been musing over this as well, and given some thought to possible rewards. I agree that 3x EXP just isn't enough incentive to do quests and there should be some kind of reward. I considered a similar sort of ring for quests, but we could also get a little more creative. Perhaps a rng that grants some speed and jump, for instance? I've also thought of rather than offering a ring, each tier grants some other kind of reward, that gets better and better, something like this:

    100 quests - GFA 60 scroll
    200 quests - Level 64 Maple weapon based on player's class
    300 quests - 10mil mesos
    400 quests - 20k vote cash
    500 quests - 5x rare Gachapon tickets
    600 quests - 10x AP reset
    700 quests - Chaos scroll
    800 quests - 40k vote cash
    900 quests - White scroll
    1000 quests - Super special awesome chair that can't be obtained any other way (untradeable)

    I'm not particularly worried about any of these items over-saturating the market given all the work doing quests is. These are just rewards to entice players to do quests. I highly doubt someone would create tons of characters and do hundreds of quests over and over for the big rewards toward the top of the ladder, and if they do gosh darn they've earned something for their efforts.

    Another topic on this are level capped quests, of which there's only a small handful but they should be accounted for, since players over the cap amd haven't completed them won't be able to do so. I see two possibilities here. The first and simplest is that those quests simply don't count toward the total. However, I think players who do take their time to these quests (and some of them are really interesting because they're tied to PQs or something) should be rewarded. That leaves me with option number two. There could be an NPC, similar to the one selling PQ boss cards who will mark those quests as complete in exchange for some mesos.
