Please make offering 13m to noobs for WS/CS/Pouch5 a bannable offense
This week 3 different people in discord spoke about how they were solicited a 13m offer for Pouch5 after winning a WS/CS
Apparently this is not a bannable offense
One of those noobs ended up losing their Pouch5 to this scumbag

    Please and thank you

    Disclaimer: I agree

The issue lies where at that point the staff must dictate what the acceptable market price is for that item, and must determine whether its an accidental "low ball/purchase" or a genuine scummy buyer.

It opens a giant spiderweb of issues which is why it likely hasnt been pursued or mentioned in TOS, and the staff/mapletips specifically state with a pop up when you pull a ws/cs to research the value of the item before considering selling it.

It's not really the buyers fault the seller chose not to read the notice, and therefore look into the value of a MP5

I understand why they don't have a rule for it
But man this is really getting out of hand
Preying on noobs is so egregious and scummy

Am I gonna get in trouble if I post the screenshots showing two people offering 13m for a pouch5

As much as I agree and also wish the people who do this to newbies a very stub your toe, it's just not realistic to make it a bannable offense for the reasons Sweat mentioned.

I really hate to be that person, but it's unfortunately just a mistake that the newbies have to move on and learn from. There's already a notice that states its a rare and valuable item when you first get one from gacha.

I think the issue is that noobs thing 13m is a significant amount
Which to be fair, if you're a noob with 0 mesos, 13m is a lot

I have started just whispering every WS/CS winner thus far a warning that a pouch5 is worth around 240m but I worry for the noobs when I'm not online

Falling for a lowball is, unfortunately, just a skill issue.

just put a 24-hour lock on ws if sold/traded by any players level 50 & below.
the WS is locked in after being traded from level 50 or lower, this gives the victim time to investigate and reverse the damage.

but not sure how that new player will even know if they were scammed or not lol
    GL i guess

Will that help if we make pouches (or just pouch 5) untradable and force them open the pouch and sell coins?

Because there's more smegas buying or selling coins.
Hopefully they will learn the price from that.

Another potential solution could be to not generate the yellow line on a low level account's first ws/cs. No solution will ever be scam-proof, but scammers are often able to work by preying on a confused player believing they need to act quickly before they've fully understood what they've pulled. As cool as the yellow line may be, are we really doing new players a service by alerting the entire server that they have an item they may not know the value of? The pop-up notification (maybe with slightly different text?) should do a decent job of telling the player they have something special, without the immediate pressure to sell.

It’s predatory and being a dickhead to try to lowball noobs, but at the same time it’s not too much to ask for people to price check before selling stuff, especially since you get a notice of exactly this when getting such item.

Players themselves should be responsible for both price checking and disapproving of the players who prey on noobs in my opinion :thumbsup:

they are already hand held by giving them a notification on their first ws cs.
if they read it it says to investigate prices or something.

The "issue" is that staff don't have a good way to determine between lowballing and straight up misleading/scamming someone to basically give them an expensive item. But if someone solicits another user with a wildly low price, isn't it obvious what's going on? Once might be an honest mistake, doing it routinely should be bannable.

I'm not sure how much community policing can really even be done, as you can sca-- take advantage of a new player on a burner mule nearly as effectively. Losses to taxes pale in comparison to the profit from a single success.
