    Day ??

I had been feeling a bit demotivated lately, so I figured I had to spice things up...
Let's give solo Zakum a try! Lvl 153 shad, no mw20/echo. Following stats (on cider):

First attempt (yesterday) dc'd after roughly 55 minutes, with 1 arm remaining.

No sweat, it happens, can only try again!

    Second attempt was already better!

b1 down! We're getting closer (but the pace already feels a lot slower than expected???)

b2 down! Absolutely not having a great time, but the end is in sight.

    Aaaaand that's it.

For a general overview of the time taken:
    Arms down - 1 hour
    B1 down - 1 hour 20 mins
    B2 down - 1 hour 45 mins
    B3 down - 2 hours 20 mins

In case anyone is wondering about pots used:
    ~300 ginsengs (shad OP)
    ~200 acp (shad OP)
10 stoppers for b3 (shad sucks)

Did end up getting a pouch! Unfortunately didn't manage to screenshot it.
...That really couldn't have gone any other way, could it?

    Yes.

Day ??: Not so much a log entry as moreso a theorycrafting and braindumping entry.

So, soloing zak on my Shad was (while very dull) an enjoyable achievement to get out of the way. It also definitely made me curious about which other classes would be feasible for soloing zak.

A quick refresher on my (somewhat) eligible characters before we start:
    Itadakimasu - 162 I/L
    ConeHead - 138 BM
    Accuse - 143 NL
    Reoru - 139 Hero
    Capitank - 127 Corsair

Going off the current list, I think my only somewhat feasible option would be my I/L, but I think b1-2-3 would take ages. Arms would be quick though!

As for the others, they're the reason I said somewhat eligible. I think a bunch of them have potential for a solo, but they'd mostly need to be around lvl 150 I think.
I don't want to bother with NL because it'd be a slugfest without SE and I'm not interested in a 'solo' with buff mules.
My hero sounds like the most likely contender. Getting to 150 shouldn't be too-too hard and I imagine it's a fairly straightforward solo from there on out.
My BM would probably take ages, as SubterlaborSubterlabor's (much stronger) BM on full apples also took a while (This is no shade towards Subterlabor, of course)
Sair sounds like one of the most viable classes to do this on, but my sair is obviously very weak and I'm a horrendous sair player. Also I'm not entirely sure to what extent regular boat breaking would ruin the overall damage output.

For now, I think the main plan will be the following:
    - Continue to farm T10 on my second Shad (20/300 sets)
    - Get Reoru to 150 to attempt Zak (139/150)

    That's all for now, goodbye!

Why solo when you can multiclient attack?

Mostly because I'm more interested in it from a challenge/achievement perspective than for financial reasons.
Additionally, a lot of my attackers rely on the same accessories (face, eye, cape, glove, earring) so I'd have to buy some budget options to really make that an option.

It's something I'm open to, but definitely not something I consider a priority. Besides, I'm not even sure if my current character infrastructure would provide very smooth multi-attacker runs.

    Day whatever?

Today I was bored again, so I wanted to solo another boss!

The candidate for today.... Nib! I was expecting it to take roughly an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.

This also proved to be a good time for a slight comparison of my I/L's damage on mw30+echo vs just mw20 without echo.

mw30 + echo (sorry for my horrendous cursor placement, it was 6.876m)

    mw20, no echo.

All in all, roughly a 10% damage boost for roughly 5% more tma. I'm not sure how this compares to the old damage formula, but it's interesting to see nonetheless.

    Anyways, back to the run!

I struggled my way through B1, not having looked up the HP for any of the bodies, taking worryingly long. Thankfully someone was kind enough to inform me that (most) NT bosses have decreasing hp as you advance to the next body. This meant that spending 30 minutes on b1 was fine, as b2 and b3 both had significantly less HP (as opposed to the higher hp I expected).

Anyways, B1 went down after roughly 30 minutes. B2 went down after another ~18 minutes.
Then came B3, this is where the damage starts to ramp up a fair bit (from ~5k hits to ~11.5k hits), meaning that I needed to be a fair bit more attentive to my HP/MP pool, as autopot regularly failed and my autopot thresholds were set kinda low regardless.
B3 is going smooth! We're going to make it!

    .
    .
    .

    Frick.

Anyways, for a fun little detail:
This was the fatal hit. As you can see, my HP had fallen too low despite my (sometimes frantic) attempts to keep manually potting when this occurred.
Now let's do a little math, shall we?
Magic Guard blocks 80% of the damage, meaning I only need 20% of the 11.422 damage as HP in order to survive.
Thanks, Google! As you can see, I was 2 hp away from surviving. Guess I should've been a luk mage for that extra m.def.

Anyways, no harm done! Learn as you do, we'll get 'em next time!

    Welp.

A while ago I had a conversation with KrythanKrythan about doing Sabitrama's quests to see how profitable they are.
The quests are: Sabitrama's Life Work and The Committee Challenges

Krythan actually beat me to it, here's his data.

Part of the reason I wanted to do this quest on a larger scale is to get more data to support my hypothesis that Maple's "random rewards" probabilities for quests do not have an equal distribution.
So, since it's a lvl 85+ quest, I had 12 characters to do the quests on.

Time to start collecting a heap of etcs:
I think in total I spent around 7-8 hours farming/buying the materials. (I would usually farm everything myself but Lazy Buffy Marbles are absolutely horrendous)

IF the rewards had an equal distribution, I was looking at an EV of roughly 21m per character, or 252m in total for 12 chars. (Note, that's a big IF)

    The actual rewards:

This is starting to look like it might not be an even distribution (though it's a small sample size). My rates come out to:

    Quest 1:
    5 Gloves for Dex 30 (42%)
    7 OA Int 30 (58%)
    Quest 2:
    8 Power Elixirs (67%)
    2 Gloves for Dex 30 (17%)
    2 OA Int 30 (17%)
    0 Gloves for Att 30 (0%)

Totalling up the rewards, 9 OA int comes out to ~135m spread out over 7-8 hours, for an hourly EV of 16.9-19.3m. This doesn't factor in the gach/loot I got from farming, so overall I say it was time well-spent.
Given these rates, the EV per character comes out to 11.25m, as opposed to the 21m I assumed given equal distribution.

    Kind regards,
    Ainz

A little birdy told me the ToT masks market has been dry lately and someone who likes farming large stockpiles of things for fun and profit might be able to make a killing. :eyes:
