Since its still hard to find parties sometimes, the Pq community would really appreciate of PQs would be more populated. The only way to achieve this would propbably be by raising the exp (at least in lpq and ppq). Let me know what you think before I get into more Details.

make it drop gach and maybe people might consider running it. The XP for most classes is similar to what you'd get from training already, but as people have stated time and time again, killing snails at Henesys hunting ground is more profitable than any PQ right now because snails can drop gach. Most old players are playing on washed characters, and unless you have spent an immense amount of meso on low level gear, a high base INT character is not going to carry it's weight in a PQ. Not to mention that washed characters are just getting leeched, which heavily outpaces PQ XP especially in 3rd job.

IMO For a substantial revival to PQ's there needs to be a Meso incentive, better XP than leech, and players with high base INT need to be able to participate.

I love PQ's and I don't want them to die. crymush

I believe that buffing PQ's exp is the best way to avoid doing something that would only benefit the mules, as it would if there was a very high reward

yes more pq buffs pls, existing players need more incentives to pq

Almost all pqs and its rewards system have been improved the past few years. Not sure if an exp buff can draw a better crowd of existing players.

Exp from PQs is fine to me.
Grinding is too op at those unbalanced and boring maps (mostly those world travels), which makes grinding at slower but more interesting maps (those originals) a joke.

On the other hand, leveling at high levels is even more boring and way too long.

The best to me is to nerf leveling at low levels, and buff leveling at high levels, so that the overall training to end game levels (say 150) does not change too much.

higher exp just means more churn so if new players are unable to replace the ones leveling out of pq, could prob have the opposite effect on population outside of events

PQs are actually worse or at best equivalent to grinding. Sku had a post in the past where he explained the exp value of PQs, if I remember correctly it was still worse than grinding even if you do not account for the time you spend waiting. If you do account for that, it can be significantly worse. Especially if you are in a nonstandard timezone.

Even if PQs were changed to be entirely revolving around being accessible to INT loaded players that are doing 1-10 damage, the boss would still require someone to carry them all. And while there are a very small subset of the playerbase that has PQ mules and love to "F*** THAT B**** UP", the majority of players in PQs are there for cards and to break up monotony of grinding. How would you feel if you were the only damage dealer in a party, using your own potions (at most likely an income deficit) and then 5 people who sat around not contributing all rolled for cards anyway?

I think we shouldn't be trying to target a demographic that's inclined to skip the content, even if it did manage to outpace leeching, because they just straight up aren't helpful in the most important part of the quest - the end where you're forced to fight something. If, for example, LPQ rewarded level 30-60 equips (or just level 50 weapons) in its prize pool instead of ores or 50 blue potions or whatever on top of the level 50 capes that drop from boxes, it would at the very least make the effort more profitable so newer players aren't worried about grinding for cash to make ends meet for potions, or potentially even allow them to get gear for their class that they can immediately use.

Yeah, this idea seems like it will cause the opposite of the intended effect. Increase PQ exp so players will be ousted from the level range quicker? Less people to party with.

But make it equippable only in the monster book ring slot. Tier up the naked ring to +1 all stats with every ~20 pqs completed starting with HPQ, KPQ, and ranging from LPQ, LMPQ, and OPQ. Could replace hene with Ellin forest or pirate PQ. This would give +5 all which would be appealing for newbies but doesn’t trivialize the book ring while also not just introducing a new custom ring with more stats since it’s one or the other.

    Totally spitballing here lol

edit: this does not address the lack of gach or lack of incentives for leechers so I say add small gach drop % in the reward

100x hpq for 6 characters is extraordinary cheap for +5 all stat

basically anything intended for newbies can be scaled up to unholy levels once abused

I meant 20 of each unique PQ, and the number could always be raised.

ya that might work, but all stat gear nowadays is huge power creep. it shows by how lively ellin has been for that 1 all stat. going forward if more common all stat gear is introduced, mb ring might necessitate a nerf to make space.

TL;DR - EXP isn't the problem with PQ's, it's the straight negative meso/item value and lack of incentive to run them.

KPQ - Slime shoes get replaced very quickly, only really beneficial to new player first character. Only worthwhile reward besides shoe is OA dex/int 10%'s. Decent EXP value for time spent, but meso loss more often than not.

LPQ - Glasses are potential BiS for Shads/NL, and without killing your character to acquire more, acquire between 2 or 3 pair if you ONLY LPQ from 35-50. Bonus isn't completely awful, but the scroll rewards/ores aren't generally worthwhile. Low EXP value for time spent, meso loss but potential NX might outweigh the negatives if you have a good party.

EPQ - Earrings are solid for every job, and can be compared to cheap alternative to E Pierce and easier to obtain than event earrings of equal value. Scroll gains aren't worth mentioning with exception being the potential CSS1%. Unsure how the exp value per time spent is since the PQ was updated, but the lowered requirement for the upgraded earrings sounds nice.

OPQ - Gloves are only really useful to new player first characters aiming for an easier 11+ w.att glove, or players that want an easy, cheaper int glove for washing, but they're untradeable so is just lost value when you go to upgrade. Players will generally be able to collect similar numbers as LPQ glasses, around 3 without needing to kill their character to run more. Bonus map is a trash version of LPQ bonus. Decent EXP value for time spent, potential NX is nice, but is meso loss.

PPQ - Lord Pirate's Hat is a good option for new players who want to save money instead of buy zhelm or scarga services. The boss drops are laughable, only scroll worth obtaining is 10% OA dex. Decent early EXP value, meso loss, wait times are insane unless the PQ King is around to recruit members.

MPQ - The amount of runs required to obtain Horus Eye, granted you get a good roll on it for your job, as well as the scrolls for it, takes far too long to be recommended for even new players or legacy players. Being able to collect the scroll from PQ reward randomly is nice, but very inconsistent. Low exp value, meso loss, buggy, and wait times are insane unless the PQ King is around to recruit members.

Having no access to gach from any and a limited amount of NX is just a raw negative value compared to simply grinding, especially when maps like Genin, Evil Eye Cave, Sky Forest, Ghost Ship and CD's are available. There's no incentive for players to run unless targeting potential BiS gear, like slamming chaos scrolls on broken glasses for shad/NL, or aiming for cheaper variants of better gear, such as Horus Eye (copium MoN that takes far too long to obtain from a buggy PQ), Lord Pirate's Hat (Decent for first time mages/bowmen but that's about it), and EPQ earrings (Event earrings are sometimes hard to come by, and EP's are expensive). Without something like a PQ Ring, PQ points, or an something similar as incentive, I don't foresee the PQ scene growing and they'll just remain a newb/noob trap.

[Edit] Forgot about the Genin map for a moment there, added that to the list of insane grind locations.

    Maybe we could
extend the range of lpq to lv 30-50
make PPQ mobs much stronger, buff PPQ exp, and make lv range 70-100.
mpq is already kinda hard, maybe make lv range 70-90, or lower entry party size requirement to 3 people

and open a pq option from 100-120 so people don't quit when they run out of pqs? idk

I know bad mesos is a turn off but I think people maybe just want to have fun with pqs, we can fix the population thing first and then fix the meso thing later

Maple is a grinding game. If you quit between 100-120 because there's no PQ's then you're just pushing the quit goalpost to 120+ when there's no PQ's.

    There's bossing though
Is maple a grinding game for everyone? maybe some enjoy it as a social game (me)

Also extending the quit goalpost by 20% is good for our active player population lol
