The more vaguely and secretive people refer to multishadding, the more my interest grows in unveiling this mysterious goldmine

Spying on Pasta stores they are primarily at squid's and ulu1/2, I know wyvern is also a spot but seems like not overly popular. Ulu1/2 would be multimaging, unsure if squids is done with MM or shad, wyvern could be done multi shad probably cheaper than MM equivelant but dunno what the ev of it is.

So...super noob question here but it's been a long while since I've really truly played...

Decided to go with sindit. Following the build here but I am really struggling with damage and which equips to buy. I'm still low level (17). Unfunded. So many of the old guides and resources floating around out there are long gone. Seems like my choices in the store are still daggers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

On my first char to shadower, your guide has greatly helped me! What are your thoughts on going through the HP challenge instead of washing for a first-time player?

I started on maple legends with a shadower, I did the HP challenges, and haven't run into content that I can't do yet. I'd heartily recommend doing them instead of washing, especially on a first character.

Just wondering. Can I go through the og build (with Dex) and still use meso explosion to level?

Yes! Meso Explosion isn't based on stats, but rather how much meso you drop.

So it's entirely viable for either the OG Build or the Low-DEX Build. Doesn't matter which build you take, as it's just a matter of how much meso you want to drop.

(Hint: Do it. The point of mesos is to make progress, and most of your progress is going to be leveling, so it's well worth dropping some cash during this phase if you can)

Thanks a lot ! Will go normal build just for fun and if I have funds will try meso explosion. Just wasn’t sure since the guide implies either og or Meso explosion.

Blu301Blu301 please come back and update the guide to include the recent changes to shadower's shield mastery.

    Level Description
1 Shield def. +5%; Knock-back resistance 18% when shield is equipped.
2 Shield def. +10%; Knock-back resistance 21% when shield is equipped.
3 Shield def. +15%; Knock-back resistance 24% when shield is equipped.
4 Shield def. +20%; Knock-back resistance 27% when shield is equipped.
5 Shield def. +25%; Knock-back resistance 30% when shield is equipped.
6 Shield def. +30%; Knock-back resistance 33% when shield is equipped.
7 Shield def. +35%; Knock-back resistance 36% when shield is equipped.
8 Shield def. +40%; Knock-back resistance 39% when shield is equipped.
9 Shield def. +45%; Knock-back resistance 42% when shield is equipped.
10 Shield def. +50%; Knock-back resistance 45% when shield is equipped.
11 Shield def. +55%; Knock-back resistance 48% when shield is equipped.
12 Shield def. +60%; Knock-back resistance 51% when shield is equipped.
13 Shield def. +65%; Knock-back resistance 54% when shield is equipped.
14 Shield def. +70%; Knock-back resistance 57% when shield is equipped.
15 Shield def. +75%; Knock-back resistance 60% when shield is equipped.
16 Shield def. +80%; Knock-back resistance 63% when shield is equipped.
17 Shield def. +85%; Knock-back resistance 66% when shield is equipped.
18 Shield def. +90%; Knock-back resistance 69% when shield is equipped.
19 Shield def. +95%; Knock-back resistance 72% when shield is equipped.
20 Shield def. +100%; Knock-back resistance 75% when shield is equipped.

    For example maybe something like:
Starting around level 70, IF you plan to grind through 3rd job (without Meso Explosion) AND use the lvl 80 thief shield:
    • There is a lvl 80 shield called the khanjar that requires 60 str and 120 dex. It adds 6-8 weapon att clean, and is pretty cheap. Most shads used to skip this because it wasn't practical, but with the addition of shield mastery stance, and since you're gonna need some base str later anyways.
    • And this shield makes you look like a Dual Blade.
    • Assuming you can get a Zakum Helmet (pay for service or loot from friends/guildies for free) which should add 13-17 str/dex clean, the following bullet point should keep you on track to have 60 str by level 80.
    • To be on pace to equip the khanjar, starting at level 70 you can add 4 str and 1 dex per level until you reach 60 str. Again, I'd try not to go past 40/80 base str/dex, and I'd try to shoot lower. You don't want to overdo this because you can get a lot of stats from gears later.
    • Once you hit the benchmark of 60 str at level 80, you can stop adding AP into str for a while, possibly forever, and resume adding 1 dex/4 luk per level. By level 110-120 you want to have 75 total str, but you can likely make up the last +15 str from equips, or just add some AP after level 100 to get there.
As a chief bandit you should have enough accuracy to attack and last hit the Dreamy Ghosts by the time you're at level 95 (leech level for dreamy ghosts). Therefore partying up with a priest for this training spot will net you good exp. not as good as meso exploding but still worthwhile in my opinion.
The new hybrid build below is aimed to max shield mastery for the stance capabilities and also have a little bit of meso guard to be able to tank hits by the time you reach the Dreamy Ghost training spot. Especially if you are not washed or aren't doing the hp challenges.

Assaulter is not maxed because it's predominantly used for movement skill anyway.

Yes the passive works as long as you have any type of shield equipped.

I was just rewording Blu's original text with respect to suggesting that since any new shads need to be on track to equipping the dragon khanjar at 120, they might as well aim to equip the khanjar at 80 for the added damage/stats.

Therefore the skill build should accomodate for adding shield mastery from lvl 80 (where it's assumed that they're ready to equip the khanjar)

If they already have level 80< shields equipped then fair you can add shield mastery points earlier but then you'd be sacrificing the damage output of band of thieves in early 3rd job.

The anniversary event is a good opportunity to get a thief maple shield that is very cheap, does not need stats and has 10 slots.

If steal is so useless why do you nearly max it instead of endure in second job?

That's a good question but Steal is definitely a useless skill. All it does is provide you with a chance to get an extra drop.
