Day 65 - The Market Game and Inching Towards the Goal

Coorie continues with her tried-and-true routine of finding cheap scrolls and selling them at a higher price, along with discovering budget items that are priced well below their material costs.

She discovers a Shield for Weapon Att 70% priced at 3.7 million meso, which is significantly lower than its current market value of above 7 million meso. Recognizing the potential profit, she decides to snatch it up. Another scroll of interest is a Knuckle for Att 30% scroll priced at a mere 400k meso, which has the potential to fetch well over 3 million meso.

Similarly, she finds a Dagger for Att 30% scroll priced at 1 million meso, knowing that it can easily fetch twice that amount.

She also successfully sells the 2 INT Lunar Gloves for 5 million meso, which she had acquired for just 1.4 million meso.

Later in the day, she notices the same gloves listed at 7.7 million meso and genuinely hopes that the buyer can make a profit from the purchase.

Coorie is faced with an interesting situation when she discovers a listing for a 5 DEX 3 LUK Blue Mystique at a price of 1 million meso. This particular item matches the stats of her own Blue Mystique earrings, which she had listed for a higher price of 5 million meso. Realizing that the lower-priced listing might attract potential customers away from her, Coorie contemplates whether she should adjust her price to match the competition...

    Heh.

For today's budget hunt, she discovers a pair of 4 DEX Maple Earrings with a single slot remaining, being sold for around 900k meso. Considering that Earrings for DEX 60%/70% scrolls usually cost 2 million or more, this is a remarkable find for her adventure. Coorie plans to attempt scrolling the final slot, preferably with a 60% scroll if she can find one priced below 1 million meso.

Despite the knowledge that her eventual goal is guaranteed, Coorie remains determined to actively search for good deals and opportunities to make profits. She understands that every bit of progress, no matter how small, brings her closer to her ultimate goal. With a keen eye for value and a knack for spotting profitable items, Coorie continues her quest, knowing that each successful transaction inches her closer to her financial target.

Note: Coorie is displeased to find that someone's store is blocking her tree hole.

Thanks for following along the challenge. As I’ve made a career advancement in real-life, I’ll need some time to figure the job’s optimal grinding pattern and shortcuts so that I appear to be productive.

Although it may seem easy that I’m always getting cheap scrolls and stuff, it actually requires a bit of effort. Utilizing the same amount of time solo farming at skele/ulu/vike is likely to earn more in the long run over merching.

If you enjoyed the writing style, do check out my new adventure journal: https://forum.maplelegends.com/inde...mited-treasury-and-unlimited-discovery.50624/
which is likely what I will focus more on given the limited playtime.

Day 66 - Rotating Strategy and Trade Secret Revealed

Coorie, with her limited store space, has come up with a clever strategy to keep her shop fresh and enticing to potential buyers. Every 24 hours, she rotates her store's selection, offering different items, Maple equipment, INT earrings, and INT gloves for sale. While sales have been slow over the past week, she still managed to make a couple of notable transactions.

Among the successful sales were the Maple Wisdom Staff and the Maple Kandiva Bow, both sold at a remarkable 12 million meso each. Coorie recalled acquiring these items for a mere 1 million meso each, which showcases her keen eye for valuable deals.

Thanks to the steady flow of transactions in the past week, Coorie has reached a new milestone in her journey, amassing an impressive 1,250 million meso in her coffers. With her decision to take a real break from deal hunting, she has something special in store for her fellow traders and adventurers.

Coorie's true excitement lies in sharing one of her most treasured trade secrets with her fellow deal hunters. It's a heat map of good deals, meticulously documenting instances of valuable opportunities across different channels and rooms. The map is not just a record of the deals Coorie herself has seized; rather, it encapsulates valuable information on a variety of opportunities, such as encounters with scrolls sold way below market value and other hidden gems.

By disclosing this trade secret, Coorie hopes to empower her peers with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the ever-shifting market successfully. With the heat map in hand, her friends and fellow traders can embark on their own journeys of prosperity and adventure.

Lastly, Coorie has made a decision to part with her cherished collection of Elemental Wands 5 to 8. Instead of selling them individually, she has decided to offer the entire collection as a package deal. Each wand comes with 2 or 3 slots remaining and boasts a minimum total magic attack of 154. By passing two Wand for Magic Att 30% scrolls, the total magic attack would soar to an impressive 170, which could command a price exceeding 100 million meso.

With a current collection of 38 wands, the package price would be 135 million meso. Feel free to contact Coorie if you are interested in purchasing them.

Structure is what separates civilization from chaos! By Coorie's self-proclaimed rules:

Rule #5 is there to deter Coorie from becoming a bathrobe store or anything similar. Not that it’s bad but is not what I’d enjoy doing.

Some think selling fame might be “cheating” as it’s almost like a guaranteed daily meso. Coorie actually sold less than 5 fames total and only sells when passing by someone explicitly buying fame.

Day 67 - Sniping After Maintenance and Owl Search Tip

Today, the server went down for a short maintenance, and Coorie saw this as the perfect opportunity for some quick deal hunting. After all, moments right after the server comes back online tend to be prime time for finding great deals. Some players might list items at unconventional prices, many at more than their actual value, but occasionally, one might stumble upon instances where the prices are lower.

Within just five minutes of the server coming back up, Coorie came across two Overall Armor for STR 30% scrolls priced at 3 million meso each.

Shortly after, she found another scroll listed at 2.5 million meso. These scrolls usually go for above 6 million meso, so Coorie wasted no time and promptly resold them at 5.8 million each before the market returned to its usual state.

Coorie also spotted another great deal: a Shoes for Jump 30% scroll priced at 3.5 million meso, lower than the usual 4.5 to 5 million meso. It was still a good price, and she didn't hesitate to snatch it up.

Unfortunately, she did miss out on a Wand for Magic Att 30% scroll that was sold for a mere 1.1 million meso.

However, she wasn't too disheartened, as the deals she managed to grab within those ten minutes already earned her an easy 9 million meso. That kind of profit in such a short time left her quite content and happy with her deal-hunting skills.

Coorie also has a valuable tip for using the owl search in the Free Market to find items with minimal input by keeping in mind how it searches your input. The owl search will return item names that match the letter combination you provide anywhere in their names, and it will ignore any spaces.

    Here are some examples:

By employing this technique, the item you are looking for should appear on the first and only page of the search result. You can save time and effortlessly locate specific items with minimal typing in the Free Market.

Hehe. Although 2-2 has quite a few, I didn’t get most of them. And I don’t think I’ve gotten any from your store, at least not more than once. Because the store will be in my priority list, imprinted in my mind, once I’ve merch it at least twice.

Just to be sure, I enjoy your journal a lot! The dedication and the care you put in it are breathtaking.

Also it is a relief to know that I have not made it to your priority list haha. I am a casual player and mainly selling what I farmed from mobs or got from Gachaphon to gear up my sole character in this game. Amazing how you can navigate this market and go through all listings in an hour or two as you mentioned.

Something tells me I'm the one responsible for the undervalued scroll purchases in 3-2.

Which, to be fair, is the point: I undercut the market to make my scrolls sell fast, even if I'm losing out on potential profits. Though usually not by too much; just a round-ish number below the lowest price on the market at the time. Which, uh... I guess I should consider, if I see any particularly lower-than-average outliers when listing a scroll, buying those up and then listing them all. Still undercut everything, of course, but keep the pricing closer to average if things are dipping well below due to low liquidity.

Thanks! There’s only so much time for me to play everyday. This is like my treasure map, with the help of owl as well.

I only scanned the whole FM in the beginning to familiarise myself with the economy since I just came back to play after half a year.

Also many players are very unlikely to have underpriced items in store, aside from possible misprice, which is also very much unlikely. So most of the time I wouldn’t even check on them, skipping a huge chunk.

If the price listed isn’t obviously low, like below 70% of the market price, I usually wouldn’t touch them. Unless there’s a few underpriced scrolls I’m sweeping (similar to what you were doing) and your pricing is competing with mine. SlimeEvil

Otherwise I’d want to flip my scrolls for profits asap, to get back meso, store space and repeat.

    EDIT:
My Meso Up mule would sometimes touch them to transfer meso to my Bishop. But those are not recorded as a “good deal”.

Day 68 - The Final Stretch

In an exciting turn of events, someone showed genuine interest in Coorie's prized collection of Elemental Wands and proceeded to purchase all 47 of them, each with 2 to 4 slots.

Note: As Coorie lost count of the amount of meso spent to craft these wands, she has excluded them from any potential Self-Scrolled Profits achievement, if there were any.

The impressive sale yielded a total of 164 million meso, bringing a smile to Coorie's face. She wished the buyer great success in their future scrolling endeavors, hoping that the wands would prove valuable in their hands.

As she inched closer to her goal, Coorie made a calculated decision not to scroll any further, despite the potential for a slight positive outcome. She felt it was best to preserve her current gains and explore other avenues for further progress.

Coorie couldn't help but feel a tinge of embarrassment as she realized that she had incurred a loss of about 12 million meso with the Sky Skis. Despite the possibility of their prices increasing over time, she weighed her options and ultimately made the decision to liquidate them. After all, she had already earned significant profits from her other equipment, surpassing the potential gains she could achieve from the Sky Skis in the foreseeable future.

With these successful transactions, Coorie's wealth reached a remarkable milestone of 1.5 billion meso.

After carefully assessing her remaining inventory, Coorie meticulously evaluated the value of each item. She found herself in possession of 16× 3 INT Red Markers, 20× 2 INT Yellow Work Gloves, 7× 34-35 weapon attack Maple Skandas, and 6× 81-82 weapon attack Maple Asura Daggers. In total, these items amounted to an estimated worth of around 300 million meso.

Furthermore, Coorie still held onto a 22 total magic attack Fallen Leaf Earrings and a 16 total magic attack Red Marker. After taking various factors into account, she deemed their combined value to be a modest 200 million meso.

With her remaining assets and the recent successful sale of her prized possession of Elemental Wands, Coorie felt reassured that she had enough financial backing to cover the rest of her Free Market Challenge. Though the loss with the Sky Skis stung a bit, Coorie was determined to keep her focus on the bigger picture and continue striving towards her goal with unwavering determination.

Day 69 - A Nice Haul and Trickeries Unveiled

Coorie had made substantial sales over the week that brought her close to the 2 billion meso mark. She sold her last remaining 22 total magic attack Fallen Leaf Earrings and 16 total magic attack Red Marker for 58 Prestigious Coins.

Additionally, she managed to sell all 20 clean 2 INT Yellow Work Gloves for 35 Prestigious Coins and 16 clean 3 INT Red Marker for 120 million meso. With other transactions included, she reached the next milestone with a total of 1,967,819,782 meso, leaving her only about 33 million meso away from her ultimate goal of 2 billion meso.

However, just when she was almost there, a tempting deal caught her attention. An item listed at 80 million meso caught Coorie's eye—a 5 LUK, 50 weapon attack Maple Skanda. Although she knew that this particular item had been over-evaluated in the past and that the demand had decreased after the Anniversary Event, Coorie couldn't resist the allure of what seemed like a great deal. She decided to purchase it, confident that even if she didn't profit from it, she could sell it back at its original price.

Later that day, still a hundred million short of her goal, Coorie decided to sell the Maple Skanda at 120 million meso. While it could have fetched 150 million during the first two weeks of the event, she had previously deemed it not worth the investment to make them. Upon announcing the sale, she received a whisper from someone claiming that she was selling the item too low. Coorie knew the player's intentions—they were upset that she was selling a similar item to theirs at a fraction of their overpriced tag.

Coorie then reflected on past trickeries employed by some wealthy players, when White Scrolls were tradeable and highly sought after due to their limited availability from gachapons. Scheming players would fill their stores with meso to prevent other items from being purchased, then list White Scrolls at around 70% of the market price. Their intention was to take advantage of players who had been lucky enough to obtain White Scrolls from gachapons and trick them into selling at a lower price. The players would be shown how there were White Scrolls listed at a low price but still remained unsold when, in reality, they couldn't be purchased at all.

Another trick involved listing uncommon items at exorbitant prices, making it difficult for other players to find a reference for the actual price. These players would then publicly announce, using a seemingly unrelated character, that they were willing to buy the uncommon item at a higher price. Players, seeing this as a profitable opportunity, would buy the item from the store and attempt to sell it to the player for a profit, only to be ignored afterward and left with an item that was far less valuable than they had believed.

Coorie remains steadfast in her approach, choosing honesty and integrity in her dealings. She believes that true success should be earned through fair and genuine means, and she refuses to partake in any deceitful tactics. Although some may argue that the act of merching is unethical by itself, Coorie still believes it's fair play as players had willingly listed the items at their stores without any direct manipulation from Coorie.

Coorie also made a generous loan of meso to IniMiniKiwi to support her earrings upgrade endeavor. The arrangement involved exchanging IniMiniKiwi's existing 12 DEX Single Earring and 150 million meso for a coveted 13 DEX Gold Emerald Earrings. While 12 DEX Single Earrings were estimated to be worth around 180 million meso, Coorie knew that selling them could be a cumbersome process. The time spent on advertising and negotiating could be better used for farming, allowing for a quick earning back of the difference in value. This makes the transaction quite worthwhile.
