Coorie continues to hold onto her prized possessions, the 29 weapon attack Dragon Khanjar and the 22 total magic attack earrings, as she observes the market dynamics. She notices a slight decrease in the overall supply of earrings, while the availability of Dragon Khanjars remains about the same. The supply of scrolled magic attack gloves has increased, ranging from 13 to 17 total magic attack, which explains the scarcity of Gloves for Magic Att 70% scrolls. However, the market conditions for scrolling magic attack gloves still seem unfavorable, and Coorie maintains her decision to give up on them for now.

Coorie also observes a significant decrease in the supply of Yellow Work Gloves and Red Markers, indicating a potential price increase in the coming week. Rather than risking the outcome of scrolling, Coorie considers selling these gloves for profits if the price rises further. Despite not having any significant sales today, Coorie starts her day with deal hunting, which proves to be quite fruitful.



She comes across a clean 3 accuracy White Raccoon Mask priced at 7 million meso, anticipating it to sell for around 10 million meso or more as the supply decreases.



Additionally, she finds two 2 INT Maple Flags priced at 1 million meso each, estimating their potential value to be 2 million meso or more.



Coorie also stumbles upon two clean 100 weapon attack Gold Double Knife, priced at 1.3 million meso each. She recalls selling a few of these daggers previously at 2.5 million meso each, making this a favorable purchase in her eyes.



Among the scroll deals, Coorie spots Knuckle for Att 30% scrolls, with two listings priced at 2 million meso and 450k meso respectively. She expects them to fetch above 3 million meso each easily.



While browsing a store, she notices a Blue Moon earrings that has been scrolled once with 3 DEX, priced at only 1 million meso. Despite being an uncommon earrings to scroll, the presence of DEX on it doesn't pose much of a problem. Coorie considers it a good deal, especially since Earring for DEX 10% scrolls usually cost more than that.



She later finds an Earring for DEX 70% scroll at 1 million meso and an Earring for DEX 30% scroll at 2.4 million meso, both priced more than 50% below the market value. This sparks the thought of potentially scrolling the Blue Moon earrings.



Or maybe not.



Continuing her purchasing spree, Coorie acquires a clean Blue Old Wisconsin with 8 accuracy for accuracy scrolling, as well as a clean Silver Strap Shoes with 6 jump for potential speed scrolling. These items are part of her preparations for the upcoming adventure she might embark on.



Along the way, she also encounters some missed deals, including a clean Maple Shield sold for 3.4 million meso, possibly a mispriced of 34 million meso, unfortunate for the seller. Coorie emphasizes the importance of carefully pricing items to avoid such losses.



Lastly, Coorie stumbles upon an 8 INT 8 magic attack Work Gloves listed at 110 million meso, which seems relatively cheap considering its stats. Similar gloves usually have an asking price of about 150 million meso. Coorie contemplates the possibility of earning a small profit of 20 to 30 million meso and decides to purchase them with another plan in mind. She intends to hold onto the gloves until the store owner clears their listings or the store expires and closes down. Once the gloves are exposed to the public for sale, Coorie is confident that they will fetch at least 130 million meso or more, based on the previous sale of her 17 total magic attack gloves for 173 million meso.



With this successful hunt, Coorie concludes yet another positive day. Her substantial bank balance allows her to easily seize deals worth over a hundred million meso, such as the 16 total magic attack gloves. Thanks to her extensive knowledge of market prices, she has a keen eye for spotting hidden gems among the sea of items available.

Day 58 - A Billion and Beyond



Today marks a significant milestone for Coorie as she achieves the impressive feat of possessing 1 billion meso!



This remarkable achievement is partly attributed to the sale of her 29 weapon attack Dragon Khanjar, which fetched a staggering 160 million meso.



With a production cost of 25,668,887 meso, the Dragon Khanjar yielded a profit of 130,331,113 meso, surpassing her previous record of 126,091,076 meso for the highest profit. This success further showcases Coorie's ability to uncover hidden potentials in items amidst the vast marketplace, all starting from a humble 10 million meso purchase.



In the previous day's entry, Coorie mentioned her strategic plan for the purchase of a 16 total magic attack Work Gloves for 110 million meso, estimating their true value to be around 130 to 150 million meso. She intended to use this item to boost the sale of her remaining 22 total magic attack Fallen Leaf Earrings, which had experienced a decline in interest.



Coorie bundled the gloves with the earrings, offering an enticing package priced at 230 million meso. Her objective was to revitalize the interest in the earrings, as she still had three of them in stock. While any sale of the earrings would yield pure profit at this point, Coorie was keen on maintaining their value by avoiding undervaluation.



The strategic move paid off as, within hours of advertising the bundle price on Discord, a potential buyer expressed interest in purchasing the bundle. Later on, Coorie successfully sold another pair of earrings, together with the gloves, at a satisfying price. It is evident that leveraging the 16 total magic attack Work Gloves to enhance the sale of the earrings was a resounding success, reaffirming Coorie's knack for making profitable decisions in her business ventures.

With the successful sale of the bundle, Coorie achieves yet another record-breaking achievement, surpassing her previous highest single transaction of 220 million meso by a margin of 10 million meso.



In addition to her accomplishments, Coorie successfully sells her 4 slots 3 DEX Blue Moon for 8 million meso, generating a profit of approximately 6.8 million meso.



Additionally, she manages to sell all her Wand for Magic Att 30% scrolls, not only recovering her initial investment but also earning nearly 30 million meso in profits. Upon reaching the billion meso milestone, Coorie unveils her new set of side goals, which involve preparing a few sets of basic gears for the adventure she wishes to embark on. First on Coorie's list is to acquire a set of speed/jump gears, enhancing her mobility and allowing her to effortlessly navigate the MapleLegends world. Next, Coorie focuses on assembling a set of accuracy gears. These gears are crucial to ensure that she can effectively defeat every monster she encounters during her adventure. By enhancing her accuracy, Coorie's attacks will land with precision, maximizing her damage output and ensuring efficient training at the best possible locations.



Lastly, Coorie's attention turns to weapons, where her love for swords takes center stage. Whether it's wielding a one-handed sword accompanied by a trusty shield or wielding a mighty two-handed sword, Coorie is determined to find the perfect weapons that suit her playstyle. With swords in hand, she will be ready to face any challenge that comes her way, striking with style and power.

Day 59 - Thrifty Pursuits and Adventurous Dreams

Coorie unveils her new sets of side goals and embarks on acquiring equipment for potential scrolling. She had purchased three clean 8 accuracy Blue Old Winconsins, three pairs of 6 jump Silver Strap Shoes, and two pairs of 5 speed Green Strap Shoes. Coorie decides to scroll the Green Strap Shoes, aiming for a total of 15 speed with Shoes for Speed 70% scrolls.







Unfortunately, the first pair fails on the 2nd slot, and the second pair gets destroyed on the last slot after passing 4 slots. Undeterred, Coorie shifts her focus to scrolling accuracy on her Blue Old Wisconsin.



To her delight, the first Wisconsin passes 6 out of 7 slots with Helmet for Accuracy 70% scrolls, resulting in 6 DEX and 20 accuracy. This significant boost will greatly benefit her in the early levels of her journey.



Coorie also needs a starting weapon and manages to find the only clean Broomstick in the market with 33 weapon attack and 6 speed. She decides to scroll it with 1H-Sword for Att 60% scrolls to prevent it from being destroyed. The Broomstick passes with 5 out of 7 slots, which Coorie remains positive about.

In addition to scrolling her own equipment, Coorie keeps an eye out for value-for-meso items, particularly those that are poorly scrolled but still usable at a significantly lower price than their production cost.



She comes across a level 70 Red Katana with scrolled stats of 5 STR and 98 weapon attack, priced at 1 million meso. Considering its fast attack speed and the fact that a clean perfect Red Katana is commonly priced above 2 million meso, Coorie finds it to be a decent deal.



She also finds a Maple Warrior Shield with scrolled stats of 4 STR and 5 weapon attack, priced at 1 million meso. A clean Maple Warrior Shield usually costs 10 million meso or more, making this offer highly reasonable.



Coorie's equipment acquisitions at good prices set her off to a promising start. She stumbles upon a partially scrolled Pan Lid with 2 INT and 3 magic attack, and 4 slots remaining, priced at 4.4 million meso. Although completing the shield may be costly, Coorie has a plan to use it for cheap INT for HP washing.



She also comes across a clean 2 INT White Christmas Sock priced at 3.3 million meso, a bargain compared to its usual price above 5 million meso.



During the day, a player expresses interest in Coorie's 6 LUK 53 weapon attack Blue Scarab, stating their need for equipment and funding for their level 132 Nightlord. Coorie sympathizes and offers to sell the Blue Scarab at 5 million meso, taking a slight loss.



However, she later notices that the player listed it for sale at 5.5 million meso in their store. While Coorie has no objection to that, she couldn't help but find it amusing.



In the evening, Coorie spots a player on the MapleLegends Discord Free-Market channel looking to purchase perfect Elemental Wand 5 and 6 for 18 and 16 Prestigious Coins respectively.



Seeing this as an opportunity, Coorie searches the market for wands with the specified stats. Using a safe exchange rate of 3.3 million meso per coin, she looks for clean perfect Elemental Wand 5 priced below 57 million meso and clean perfect Elemental Wand 6 priced below 51 million meso. Coorie finds three Wand 5 and one Wand 6 that meet the criteria and swiftly acquires them.



She exchanges them for a total of 70 Prestigious Coins, earning an approximate profit of 21 million meso.

Coorie thoroughly enjoys the process of searching for budget-friendly equipment that offers great value for her meso. It adds a new level of excitement and fun to her endeavors, further heightening her anticipation for the upcoming adventure. Day 60 - Thrilling Budget Hunts

Coorie embarks on another thrilling hunt for budget-friendly items and comes across some incredible finds. It seems like the law of attraction is at play, as she discovers items she hadn't noticed before.



One of her fantastic finds is a budget weapon attack shield, a scrolled 10 STR 3 weapon attack Pan Lid that can be equipped at level 10. The stats it offers for the price of 1 million meso are definitely value for meso.



Additionally, Coorie has been collecting Japanese Maps, a two-handed sword known for its fast attack speed, and stumbles upon one that is fully scrolled with 8 STR and 78 weapon attack, priced at a mere 500k meso. The deal is too good to pass up, considering the cost of a clean weapon and all the scrolls needed. Even though it may not have the best stats, it is still very usable and acceptable for its level.



In the same store, Coorie finds an Earring for INT 10% scroll priced at 1 million meso, which is lower than the usual market price of 1.5 million or more. With this scroll purchase, Coorie practically gets the Japanese Map for free.

She also spots a scrolled 2 STR 97 weapon attack Sky Ski, which may be poorly scrolled but is priced at only 250k meso, making it an attractive buy.



In the same shop, she notices a partially scrolled Dark Snowboard with a mix of Polearm for Att and Accuracy scrolls, possibly used for "dummy scrolling." Coorie contemplates completing the remaining two slots with Polearm for Accuracy 30% scrolls since they are cheap.



She goes ahead with the plan and manages to pass one out of two slots, resulting in the final stats of 2 STR, 8 DEX, 82 weapon attack, and 13 accuracy, which Coorie considers to be still decent.



Coorie successfully sells her clean 3 accuracy White Raccoon Mask for 12 million meso, earning a decent profit from the initial purchase price of 7 million meso. She is also thrilled to have sold all her 70 Prestigious Coins at 3,350,000 meso each, resulting in a profit of 24,637,504 meso from the wands she had traded. Since the coins were bought in a single transaction, it breaks the previous record of the highest sale of 230 million, now standing at 234.5 million. With this achievement, Coorie's wealth reaches above 1.1 billion meso.



Although she feels that her goal is within reach, she also recognizes that there is still a way to go. Nevertheless, she continues steadily moving forward towards her ultimate objective. Coorie has yet another satisfying thrift hunting experience, finding weapons that will prove useful for her upcoming adventure.

Day 61 - The Final Chapter

You could have never imagined that the end of Coorie's Free Market Challenge would come so soon. As Coorie spends the day managing her inventory, she realizes that the value of her items amounts to approximately 1 billion meso. Combined with her current wealth of 1.1 billion meso, she technically completes her Free Market Challenge, now patiently waiting for her items to gradually sell and convert into meso.



While organizing her inventory, she comes across a collection of partially scrolled Red Markers that had failed during the scrolling process, leaving only +1 Red Markers with 2 slots remaining.



Determined to clear some space, she decides to purchase Gloves for Magic Att 10% scrolls and attempt to salvage each of them. Out of the 7 gloves, 1 of them successfully passed, resulting in a total magic attack of 10 with 1 slot remaining.



Coincidentally, Coorie had a Gloves for Magic Att 30% scroll in her possession, which she had originally intended to use during her previous unsuccessful scrolling attempts.



To her surprise, she successfully passes the last slot, resulting in a Red Marker with 16 total magic attack. Thrilled with this outcome, Coorie estimates its value at around 130 million meso but lists it for sale at 140 million meso.



She also employs a strategy to offer a discount if the Red Marker is purchased along with any of her remaining two 22 total magic attack earrings. After carefully evaluating her assets, Coorie decides to stop scrolling altogether.


Note: You may not believe it, but the total sum amounting to exactly 1 billion meso was purely a coincidence.

She conducted a modest valuation of each item in her inventory and estimates a total worth of 1 billion meso. She then decided to take a risk-free approach, patiently waiting for her items to sell while actively searching for valuable items at bargain prices to further prepare for her upcoming adventure.



Coorie anticipates that this adventure will have no restrictions, and if she were to document it in a journal entry, it would be a very ordinary one.

It's not the most updated as the market dynamics can change anytime but at least you won't severely under-price your scrolls for my challenge to end sooner If anything else, use the cash shop owl for the best up to date reference.

Use more cost effective pots from New Leaf City NPC Miki. The notable ones are Grilled Cheese and Supreme Pizza. Get according to your character's needs.

For the prices, I actually don’t know everything. Usually we wouldn't just know the price, but understand why the prices are like that so we can make better estimations. There are many factors and the most basic is the concept of supply and demand, caused by factors like events and player population.

Understand the nature and meta of the server. Magicians and Thieves are some of the more popular classes and therefore have more expensive gears. Many gears have secondary stats requirement so items with lower to no requirement are more valuable. Example would be scrolling magic att on Mystic Shield is more preferable over Esther Shield. There are better and more expensive options, like Maple Shield, having lower level requirement, more upgrade slots and accessible for all classes, but is only obtainable during the yearly Anniversary Event.

There are so much more which some you may be able to pick up in this journal as it goes through the rationale behind every decision that is made.

Day 62 - Greedy Exploitation on Mistakes



Coorie celebrates another successful sale by parting with her last 22 total magic attack Red Emerald Earrings, fetching a price of 120 million meso.



Coorie attributes the success of her earring sales, including all five pairs of 22 total magic attack Red Emerald Earrings she had made, partly to the presence of a similar earring on the market since the beginning that is priced higher than her unbeatable offer. This price comparison makes Coorie's earrings even more attractive to buyers.

With only her remaining 22 total magic attack Fallen Leaf Earrings left, Coorie sets her sights on selling them as well.



Additionally, she decides to sell her remaining clean 8 accuracy Old Blue Wisconsin for 1.2 million meso each, as she already has a decently scrolled one for herself. Coorie had acquired three clean 8 accuracy Old Blue Wisconsin items at prices ranging from 350k to 800k each, making this particular sale a profitable one as well.



The day's supposed good deal turns into an opportunity for Coorie to capitalize on the seller's pricing mistake. Coorie eagerly secures a clean 105 weapon attack Stonetooth Sword listed at 7.44 million meso, only to receive a whisper from the seller admitting their mistake in pricing it, which should have been 74.4 million meso instead.



Seizing the opportunity, Coorie shrewdly counter offers to sell it back at an exorbitant amount of 8 million meso, leaving the poor helpless seller with no other choice but to reluctantly accept, allowing Coorie to profit 355,556 meso from their unfortunate mistake.



This serves as a valuable lesson for them to be more careful and avoid making similar pricing mistakes in the future.



Continuing her budget hunt, she comes across a scrolled 3 INT Maple Cape priced at a mere 122k, perfect for inexpensive INT equipment for HP washing.



She also discovers a 2 DEX, 2 avoidability, 5 jump Crying Mask with 5 slots remaining, priced at 5 million meso. She recognizes its potential value, estimating it to be around 15 million meso or more. Initially considering selling it for profit, she ultimately decides to keep it for her own use due to its beneficial attributes of mobility and slight accuracy boost.



Lastly, she finds an incomplete 6 DEX, 5 accuracy Purple Marker priced almost for free at 4.2k meso.



Coorie acquires a Gloves for DEX 30% scroll to complete the final slot, resulting in a 9 DEX 10 accuracy Purple Marker, which will be helpful for early level monster encounters.



Coorie wraps up her findings with the purchase of two pairs of 2 INT Red Emerald Earrings priced at 1 million meso each, with the intention of selling them for a small profit instead of scrolling them.

It was indeed another fruitful day for Coorie, filled with notable highlights such as a significant sale, an opportunistic exploitation of a seller's mistake, and satisfying discoveries during her budget hunts.

Ironically, the advantageous merching for new players is by taking advantage of other new players.

While it may seem positive, this is possible due to how broken the economy is. Anytime certain items start becoming “too cheap”, they get swept off the market and repriced, depriving players who actually use them for scrolling. Any misprice from unsuspected players yields decent profit because of how expensive many things are in the monopolized market.

Some items are overpriced and many players are not willing to let go below a certain perceived value. I was able to take advantage of that and consistently make TMA 22 earrings with some mathematical magic, sell them at 70-80% of the perceived value and still earn a decent profit.

 

Day 63 - Time to Speed Things Up



Sales have been slow as expected, but Coorie isn't too worried about it. She understands that it's just a matter of time before she achieves her goal. In the meantime, she continues to search for materials to prepare for her upcoming adventure.





Coorie has decided to scroll her Silver Strap Shoes for speed, with six 6 jump Silver Strap Shoes and a selection of Shoes for Speed 30%/70% scrolls. Her strategy is to use 30% scrolls for the first 2 slots and then aim to pass the remaining 5 slots with as many 70% scrolls as possible, with the hope of avoiding any destruction. Her goal is to achieve a minimum of 12 speed on the shoes. With the combination of a bathrobe and the 5 jump Crying Mask, she would have a total of 122 speed and 11 jump.



Unfortunately, her first 5 attempts on the shoes result in their destruction. However, she would have discarded them regardless, so it saves her the trouble of disposing of them. On the 6th and final pair of shoes, a miracle occurs as she successfully passes two consecutive 30% scrolls.



This results in a pair of 6 speed, 6 jump Silver Strap Shoes with 5 slots remaining. The dream of reaching 16 speed crosses her mind, but Coorie decides to leave the shoes as they are for now, planning to revisit them when she feels lucky.



Coorie begins to ponder where else she can obtain more speed besides shoes and the bathrobe. She recalls having two event cash pendants, each providing 15 speed and jump respectively, allowing her to switch them as needed.



She also realizes that her Broomstick provides a speed boost, which prompts her to explore other weapons that offer speed as a stat.







She discovers that the Red Whip offers a decent amount of speed, ranging from 13 to 17. With this in mind, she purchases some Red Whips with weapon attack above 50 and a few 1H Sword for Att 60%, 70%, and 10% scrolls. Her plan is to scroll the first 2 slots with 10% scrolls and then proceed with 60% and 70% scrolls if a 10% scroll passes.



Out of the four Red Whips she acquires, one manages to pass one with a 10% scroll on the 2nd slot. She successfully passes 5 more slots using three 70% scrolls and two 60% scrolls. The final stats of the Red Whip are 8 STR and 68 weapon attack. Although the speed stat is on the lowest end at 13, Coorie is still satisfied since this weapon won't be her final choice. A 13 speed boost is respectable, and when combined with the anticipated 12 speed from the shoes, and 10 speed from bathrobe, it would grant her a total speed of 135.



Coorie wraps up the day with a small find of a clean 8 accuracy Blue Old Wisconsin priced at 150k meso, which she had previously sold two of for 1.2 million each.



She also discovers two female thief tops with 5 DEX, 3 LUK and 3 DEX, 5 LUK respectively, which she believes are worth more than the store price of 300k each.

Coorie is excited yet nervous about the potential completion of scrolling her Silver Strap Shoes, hoping to pass at least 3 out of the remaining 5 slots.

Got to get that 2 billion first before adventure starts!

 

I’m looking into making another character for an adventure journal and still thinking which class I want to play before Coorie finishes her challenge.

But it will be a much less committed gameplay, like 30min to 1hr per session from time to time.

Day 64 - More Budget Hunts and Shoerprises



Coorie continues her budget hunt and stumbles upon a 2 DEX Old Raggedy Cape with 2 slots remaining, which she sees potential in for 6 DEX and decides to purchase.





Unfortunately, only 1 out of 2 Cape for DEX 70% scrolls pass resulting in 4 DEX total, but it still proves to be decent for lower levels.



Next, she comes across a 1 accuracy Raccoon Mask with 6 slots remaining, priced at 3 million meso. Instead of scrolling INT on it for potential profit, Coorie decides to turn it into a budget accuracy mask.

Coorie completes it with a 100% scroll to avoid any failure, settling for 10 accuracy, which is still quite decent considering the cost spent.



During her hunt, she finds a scrolled 13 DEX Bathrobe for Women priced at 555k meso. It offers good value for its price, which has 11 speed on it as well.



Lastly, Coorie acquires a Blood Snowboard for 5k meso, with one slot of Polearm for Att 10% passed and one slot failed. She decides to finish it with a mix of Polearm for Accuracy 30% and 70% scrolls.



She successfully passes 2 out of 3 30% scrolls and completes the remaining 2 slots with a successful pass on 1 out of 2 70% scrolls. This results in a yellow-text item with 3 STR, 8 DEX, 13 accuracy, and 87 weapon attack, making the Blood Snowboard look pretty sleek. Although it may not hold much value, she is very proud of her accomplishment, as it's the first time she has ever made a yellow-text item.
